Hunting & Fishing My best gobbler so far...

Shot this monster on Sunday after 2 days of box-calling and sitting in NW Florida.

Not sure of the exact weight b/c the scale technique was less than ideal but I'll say 21lbs to be "honest" and 23lbs for a campfire story.

Not the prettiest bird I saw but the biggest by far.

I think you gotta get to a certain amount of posts before you can put up pictures... My turkey season starts next weekend and I've been patterning those thunder chickens so hopefully I can put one down too.

To be honest... I'm not sure.

The color and size threw me off.

I got him outside of Tallahassee so I'd think it was an Eastern but he was the darkest turkey I've seen in that area.

Then again Mother Nature has quite an imagination and evolution never sleeps, so...
