Wow, thanks alot guys. Update: I'm currently waiting for the gun to get back from having a new extractor installed, as well a a coat of fresh paint. I've got 600 amaxs waiting for her when she gets back, gonna make alot a bugholes in varmints.

Here's another update; So I originally went with the Remington extractor (thanks to several opinions on here) I had one problem after another, and it got to the point that I couldn't stand it. So I boxed it back up and sent it back up to Jason @ Asylum Arms, and he put a Sako extractor in it. As well as a nice coat of black Cerakote.
I just got it back, today, and boy am I happy!

Extraction is 100% now, after running 60 rounds through the system before a quick trip to the mountain.
I wondered how close/far away from zero I would be, after removing the scope base, and all that stuff. But I was happy to see when I fired my first shot, it was only .10 MIL off of center. I made a quick correction, to zero it, and then started shooting at the only targets I had on such short notice.
I spotted a couple of egg sized rocks poking up through the snow at 300yds, after hammering all of those(one shot per) I moved on to a rock at 750. There was a small patch of snow on the top that I used for a target, first second and third shots all sent the snow flying. I tried a couple at a similar spot at 950, with similar results but it was harder to see the disrupted snow so I'm not too sure how I did there. Either way, It was a great time, and I'm happy to have my baby running again.

Blackops, I like the PTG better, just because it gives better leverage. And I like the look of the straight handle.
Perv, I'd love to build you a .308,.223,and the .17, but I'd have to charge way too much, because I don't have the machines to do it quickly. And it would take me forever. Thanks for the offer.

IIRC it was around 1400 for all the steel, and the stock only cost me about 140$ in materials but way more time than I can quantify

Range report update:

Yesterday myself, chubbles, and goathead1096, went out into the west Utah desert to stretch out a bit. The wind was bad (from 0 to 20 MPH and back to 0 all day long) so it was no surprise that we spent alot of ammo. We setup 6 different steel targets 300,535,660,775,1000,1240. They were all steel disc's except for the 1240, which was an 18"X24" mild steel silhouette freshly painted. All ranges were confirmed by both Swarovsky, Leica, and Bushnell rangefinders.
Once we got into the shooting, the wind really taught us something about being inconsistent. It took some time before we actually hit it, But we knew when a hit was made, the dry desert dirt made quite the signature with every miss. While the steel made none whatsoever. The first hit came from my little .223, it was also hit several times with the other two's .308's. While I did try with my own 10fcp I never connected. I managed to hit it several times with my .223 though, have a look at the pics:

All I can say is WOW. That is one sweet work of art. I've put together a few rifles, but never had the confidence to try and build my own stock. Now that I see how nice yours turned out, I may give it a go. I've always been more of a metal worker, but even if I have to make multiple attempts at it (which I'm sure I will), I'll have way less into materials than buying a decent stock, plus the satisfaction of doing it myself. Congrats on a couple of sweet rifle builds, keep up the good work.

No sir, I mentioned earlier in the thread that #2 was purpose built for a good friend of mine who is just getting into shooting. He has been a good friend since we were children, almost like my other little brother. He started going hunting with us years ago and bought a nice M77 30-06, later had a break installed and trigger work. But he wanted a more "custom" rifle, and he was in the market for a varmint gun too. So when I had this vision for these rifles, I asked him if he wanted to go in on them with me to cut cost's. Obviously he was interested, and that's why there was two. He doesn't shoot much, but he sure enjoys it when he does.

Got out today to do a little shooting, we were shooting almost exclusively .223's. I wanted to do some checking of all my rifles, this one in particular. We shot a couple groups on paper to double check accuracy and zero, I was happy to see CBM#1 was still right on the money. Here are some pics of two five shot group shot at 103 yds:

The second one I had adjusted my scope, thats why its higher than the first.

Here is the lineup of what we shot today, My RRA/LAR, CBM#1, and my brother's brand new LAR Grizzly 20" precision operator.

After zeroing, we went to doing a little range testing. We shot at 300, 500, and 930yds. It was awesome to see the little 75gr bullets make their way up the canyon and hit the rocks we were aiming for. Very satisfying to say the least.
