Navy SEAL Eddie Gallagher not guilty

How so ?.........The Jury just found him Innocent, correct ? Maybe I'm dense and missing something, but I'm not getting your point. I do get the fact that he's never going to see any compensation. But, Innocent is Innocent, right ? To me, whether he goes hat in hand looking for money is an open question. To me, it's doubtful he will. Law of diminishing returns.

Split verdict. Acquitted of all charges except the posing with a dead guy charge.

I wouldn’t want to be in his position. He may we’ll be busted in grade at 19 years.

OK, gotcha, thanks.

Not trying to be argumentative, I just don't know. It seems like you could be right. If what you say about being busted at 19......doesn't that speak more to the (SJW) politicization in the upper ranks though ? If I am interpreting other posts correctly, they are bemoaning the "fact" that the brass has been taken over by Obama lovers and SJW's. Doesn't diminish the threat to Gallagher's future well being, just trying to understand here.

You've got some real blue falcon ways about you...
What I’ve learned about discipline I learned in part from my grandfather, who served in SAC under LeMay. Are you going to cry about Eddie Slovik next?

The judge and his commander have the authority when it comes to his punishment and neither are all that senior.

What branch did you serve in, not your grandfather, but you?

I looked at that like giving speeding tickets out to NASCAR or Indy 500 drivers on Race day,...

I'm drinking a fine Oregon Pinot now. I don't have time to man splain' things to you. Just go look at Mile High Shootings site. They have some really cool stuff there.
Let’s see your list of times you’re allowed to do things Congress says you can’t and not face consequences. I’m curious what’s on it.

I didn’t serve. Now that’s embarrassing. You enlisted and you still know less about discipline than civilians do.

I can tell you didn't and you make assumptions about other people who have, who spent time away from families to go overseas and fight. You're a joke because of your behavior on the net, and talk to and about men who have done something you know nothing about. Im sad you live in Texas also. Congrats, you are irrelevant to people who have done things of value.

Oh my it's about to get real in here....
Eh. I’ve never been sympathetic to claims that military service places people outside the reach of authority.
So what is wrong with that? Cause the bulk of those I know who played adult tag have been in or took photos of the player/s who lost.
I have no moral objection, but adult tag has adult rules and Gallagher got caught breaking them. Now there are consequences to be had.

Your years and branch? And had you told a subordinate to do something and they did the opposite, would you stand there with your dick in your hand or administer a correction?

Splain why you think it's different with him a where he was when it happened?
Hell that was minor shit compared to cutting the dicks off a whole squad, stuffing them in their mouths. Photoing it all an getting the copys back to their brothers in arms for proof of what happens when you play tag in some A/O with people who say FUCK rules an people who make rules. AS you will never see their ass anywhere close to the shit they start an want others to back up their mouths/asses. Thats a group I would think you know a lot about reading some of your posts,...here.

I knew you never served you fucking dirty liberal pig.
You have some serious hard ons for Gallagher and Seals in general.

But that OK little guy. I have a real hard on that you get run over by a bus and your little slimy grape crushed.

Ryan,

Just let it go man. I understand taking the moral high ground but it may be misplaced here. Nobody on this website was downrange with these guys, so nobody here can say for sure what happened. Your argument is theoretical. Trail is over. And I understand you got pulled into this thread by guys doing a little victory dance but you took the bait. This is going to go 4+ pages and nobody is gonna budge.

I hope what this Gallagher situation, and ones like it, don't do is causes guys who have to make split second decisions, life altering or ending decisions, hesitation. That is the kind of shit that gets our sons and daughters a ride home in an aluminum coffin with a crisp new flag. Though it may sound callous I wouldn't trade one US life for all the 12 year olds in the Califate. If that means hard men have to do some unseemly things, I can live with that if they can.

I am not a combat vet, so I can't say how I would react to these situations. However, I spend enough time around guys who have been downrange dozens of times between them and I can say for sure , to a man, they agree the best laid plans can go to shit once you have round inbound. What would you doing if you had a 12 Y.O. bomber in your custody? What would you do if you saw a 14 Y.O. shoot one of your buddies and found him injured as you assaulted across the objective? I can't say, but I venture to say neither can anyone else who has not been in that position. Our warriors deserve the benefit of the doubt.

I’m not liberal, I showered after work and I wouldn’t say I have a hard on for SEALs, I’m just disappointed that they keep having discipline issues. It’s kind of pathetic that people here have encouraged me to commit suicide, be raped and be hit by a truck because I don’t suck the right nuts for them.

It’s not a moral thing. It’s a rule of law thing.

And those situations aren’t like this one. Executing a prisoner and taking pictures with the corpse aren’t a split second decision in a tense, uncertain and rapidly evolving situation. I have no moral objection to either, but if you play that game there are consequences if you’re caught. If I’m your boss, you do what my boss tells us to do and if you don’t I discipline you. If you say fuck your rules man, it goes downhill from there.

In what world do you get to tell your boss to fuck off and not face consequences?
You don't have a clue do you? There are people out there that don't answer to those you think they would. Have you lived under the protection of your parents an others for so long, you can't think for yourself?

Dam HD you gonna let him do that to you.....

Ahhh well what can I say that he would understand? I'm trying to direct the circus tent that is bedtime with children or I would probably construct a more eloquent response.

However, I do think it's odd @RyanScott is so morally sure of himself when he has never had a bullet fly past his Kevlar so close you could feel the air coming off it. Sun in your eyes sweat dripping down your forhead so hard you can barely see. Your trying so hard to diffrienciate the "civilians" weaving in and out of every avenue of fire across the entire line of contact while your trying to maintain cover and scan for the actual "enemy combatants".

Mean time over the radio you hear the 9 line go up from two streets down after a loud ied goes off hoping it's not your best bud from 2nd squad who is from your hometown. Your platoon has been shot at every time you have patrolled up and down this street the last few days now your wondering is today the day I don't go home to my family.

Only thing that matters in that moment is your sight picture and protecting the guy next to you by doing your job without hesitation. Everything else goes out the window.

@RyanScott never sat down after 54 hours of straight fighting without sleep or food hoping that everyone you shot at that day in the heat of everything was in fact a bad guy because more often than not when you do find them dead they look like your nephew who is in the 9th grade.

Shit happens it's war....it's not always pretty and it's easy to judge when you haven't been there. I don't agree with everything that's been presented in the trial and I agree Mr high speed seal sounds like a tool if half his guys testified against him but a jury aquitted today.

Bottom line is unless you have had to make that choice wether you finish The trigger squeeze and sling an m855 negotiation module at someone's skull I'm going to go out on a limb here and say your probably not qualified to comment on the affairs of warriors so go back to nesting beta.

I'm sure there are a few salty Vietnam dogs like @foulmike here that made my one combat tour seem like an airsoft milsim they stacked bodies so high and without mercy

^^^^my quote butting won’t work

“Grand uncle” WWII in pacific theatre (enlisted at 16 years old)
It you only had a few jap prisoners after firefight you would walk them into the jungle and toss a grenade.
We were so short on men in the beginning of the war they didn’t want to weaken the platoon by 2-3 men for just a few prisoners.

Right or wrong that’s reality of war.
Not the video game everyone thinks it is.

Are you sure about that?
The UCMJ has very specific rules for demotion.
One of them being the rank/grade of the commander vs rank of the individual.

If the accused is an E-9 it just about takes an act of Congress to bust them.

The zeros would be better served to let him ride a desk until he's eligible for retirement.

Hi,

How to tell when your ship is sinking.

When you start your discussion with:
GUILTY, GUILTY, GUILTY

Then you transition to:
PERJURY, PERJURY, PERJURY

Then you attempt to transition to:
SPLIT DECISION, SPLIT DECISION, SPLIT DECISION

Pretty good chance you are on a sinking ship and should rescue yourself by STFU on said topic.

Sincerely,
Theis

In my world, any punishment beyond LOR required numbered AF (two or three stars) for E-8/9.

^^^This^^^

I'm retired USAF and I couldn't remember the specifics on it, but most O-5 and below won't even consider demotion proceedings of an E-8/9.
Wing commander and above to even think of going up the chain.

I remember our Chief in the morning meetings.
If an officer said/did something stupid or asked a stupid question, Dave would get all up in their ass over it.
All of us Senior NCOs knew he held no love for them.
It was comical as hell because we had a few new LTs that thought they could tell Dave what to do.
HA!!
