Need a Bi-pod with Solid Cant Lockout

Long Range Accuracy Bipods. I have the lightest one , the scout, and it supports my heavyweight Badger Ordnance action o -Bartlein 27in. barrel on a McMillan A5 stock . Haven’t weighed but I can workout with it! . They make 3 others that are bigger and wider. Seriously, yall check em out. They are a severe contender!

I'm gonna go ahead and let yall know how petty I am but I didn't really like the look of it. Plus I like that I can swap this scal onto something else if I want to. All my long range rigs are pic mount for bipod. Unfortunately for my bank account, I have a lot of rigs.

blasphemy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the LRA bipod is also great. Was unobtainable for a while but Eurooptic got a supply in. I think they are coming back into production.

dont get me wrong I had a SCAL too... Kasey makes great bipods.

I may be wrong here but I don't think either CAL or SCAl are designed to fully lock the cant per say. I know that on both my Gen2 CAL and SCAL it doesn't matter how tight I set the Podloc by hand, If I really try to cant the rifle both still cant. Maybe with a wrench it will fully lock but I'm not about to try it since I like the fact that I can adjust by hand. Also I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that if you try to lock it too tight you will strip the threads.

I've never asked Terry Cross the inventor of the Pod-Loc why he used "Loc" instead of "Lock" but I suspect it's because it does not LOCK. :) On the CAL and SCAL There is a nylok nut under the Pod-Loc, you can adjust Pre-Tension with this nut, set it to the tension you like then use the Pod-Loc to ADD tension.

We'll alright now I'm gonna return it... ha jk. As long as it locks up pretty tight I should be fine. Exactly how I stripped out my GG&G. It uses a tension screw and it's a pretty small diameter. I can only hope the one on the scal is bigger diameter which should provide more tension.

Please see above on adjusting the Pre-Tension. The bolt the Pod-Loc fastens to is heat treated 416 stainless, I believe there is no way to break/strip these components in normal use/application.

Thank you both for using our gear.

Wow ok that’s awesome. Haven’t even looked at it close enough to see that. Appreciate the info.

So shooting this thing today I swear this bipod improved my groups. Super solid on the rear back with minimal input from me to get it on target and it stay there while squeezing the trigger. Plus the wide stance allowed the 60degree bolt to lift pretty easy and stay on target. Really pleasant and she shot into the .4’s during OCW.

Best part about this one is my house in back there in that sea of houses. Not a far drive:)
