A friend of mine was asking about who makes the best off the shelf AR's and for the life of me I cannot remember the name of this company. I remember they cost around 2,300 MSRP definitely military grade right up there with KAC and they use Bartlein barrels.?????

And it's not Lonestar, Precision Firearms or GA Precision.

At the risk of sounding too obvious, you wouldn't be talking about Noveske, would you? I believe they use Pac-Nor barrels, IIRC.

Other than Noveske, only "off-the-shelf" AR's I can think of, that are considered "upper echelon" would be: JP, Wilson Combat, LMT, Bravo Company, LWRC, PWS, CLE, Seekins, BCM, etc, etc...too many to list, but was thinking of the more obscure brands.

No definitely none of them, Lone Star Armory is pretty close to what style of rifle they make.

CLE may use Bartlein as an option, sure who JP uses. If you have ever borescoped any of the rest you will know they are not near Bartlein quality.

There are no more "Mike Rock" barrels; he sold the business & has been out of it for 6-7 years. IIRC.

But Rock Creek still makes both cut & button rifled barrels; according to Paul Craddock, who sells both, the only difference is life., FWIW.

Correct, you can get both cut and button Rock Creek barrels. I have a cut Rock Creek in a gun right now purchased in the last year

You know it to be true!

It's not for me brother, and what I mean by high end military grade is like KAC.

So far the only two that come Close is lone star armory, and lanxang....who knows maybe they went out of business or changed their name.

Lol... Thank God... I hate when I can't remember things like this... Kind of drives me nuts.

I had a heck of a time remembering Hodge Defense.

And for what its worth, I didn't even know Radian Arms sold Bartlein barreled firearms... off to go look.

Yeah. I didn’t know about them either. I did some searching last night and found some info from 2018 from a Radian representative that stated they used Shilen barrels. Not exactly Bartlein, but still a quality barrel.

I've bought a few Radian parts here & there & they seem to be high quality, but i don't know if they have had any govt contracts for the rifle & w/o that, it's a little hard to put them into the "military grade" category with companies like KAC, LMT, FN & Colt, even Geiselle, who all have or have had govt contracts, even if they do use Bartlein barrels...................I could not find any mention that they are using Bartlein barrels on their website, but I might have missed it.

Their rifles seem a little more boutique oriented than "military grade", whatever that means.
