Thinking about buying another .22 in the coming months, and I've narrowed it down to 2 contenders the Anschutz 1903 @ $1495, and the Ans64 Sporter Target @ $1195. The two seem pretty comparable, the 1903 has an adjustable comb height, but that is pretty much the only difference that I can see. Any of you guys own or have owned either one of these rifles? I can't go finger bang either one, around here if you want more than a standard AR-15, or Savage Axis you have to order. So I'm soliciting opinions.;)

What is your purpose, huge difference between those two choices. Which model of 1903 as there are different ones---one is a mag fed repeater and the other is a single shot target. I don't know what a sporter target ANS64 is either, usually anschutz's are either a sporter or a target model.

Keep in mind the 64 series is being discontinued with the new 1761 series replacing that line.

Anschutz sheetmetal magazines for the 54/64 lines leave a lot to be desired.

I would prefer a repeater, but single shot isn't out of the question either. @nesikabay that's a nice rifle, but I already have one 1416, I'm not quite ready to purchase either. As far as the 40xb goes, I'm not a huge remmy fan.

I'm not really interested in a full size R700 foot print gun, I already have enough 12+ pound rifles. Besides I don't compete, so I don't really need a dedicated trainer that mimics a comp gun.
