New Rifle Purchase.

I just purchased a Remington 700 .308 SPS-V 26" heavy barrel.
I want to do some upgrades to the gun; stock, scope, bipod, etc.
Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreiciated.

Glass and bipod should be your first priority, the stock upgrade can come later.

Figure out what your budget is for glass, need to know that before anyone can give you advise.

Bipod is pretty standard, Harris or Atlas. the atlas is awesome but comes with the bigger price tag. Harris are quality bipods that will do everything they are supose to.

Been looking at the Leupold Mark 4 LR/T series. So I guess around a grand. BTW I want a mil-dot scope.

Take a look at Nightforce. You may have to up your budget a little more, but I feel it's a better product than Leupold's MkIV line.

+1 Glass is one of those things, do it right the first time and youll save in the long run. Keep an eye in the ForSale Section. Used NF and USO bounce around there all the time.

As far as glass, if you're considering Nightforce, there was a NXS 3.5-15 in the for sale section the other day for $1150.

Just had my 700 V 26' cut down to 20'. Best move I ever made. Still shoots 1/2-3/4 and is much more fun to lug around and shoot. my .2

Why not just start with the SPS Tactical that comes stock with a 20" barrel?
