In NZ you don't need a permit or to register them, although you now need a form/permit to ship them (or any other gun or gun part).Better in Denmark, we can just go to a gunshop and buy a suppressor.
The dealer will register the sale with the police.
Only caveat is that you can only buy suppressors if you have a hunting permit.
We have our locally designed suppressors, costing 200$ including threading the barrel.
No paperwork at all.
oh, and we have unrestricted FOV
That's because they took away all the rifles you could put them onSuppressors are restricted in all Australian states if I'm not mistaken.
New Zealand has a free for all on suppressors, but that's the only good thing going for us.
I think the UK is more lax than AusAustralia has virtually nothing worth being jealous of, in relation to gun laws that is.
Hmmm, I'm not so sure about thatFull FOV Schmidts certain isn't enough reason to move there.
Billy Bob here doesn't understand "nerfed"?Yes. US models don’t have nerfed LPI.
It’s brightBilly Bob here doesn't understand "nerfed"?
Can you get a suppressor for your Centurion? You can own and use a suppressor here....but LOT of paperwork to do...
Yep.....Aus is an utterly fantastic place to be ...wouldn't trade it for anything actually!!Hmmm, I'm not so sure about that
Ouch. They were always easy to get, the whole rifles being taken away was unrelated (******* leftwing *****).That's because they took away all the rifles you could put them on
They are on par I think with pros and cons either way, NZ is still the best of the three, not sure how long that'll last though. That's because they took away all the rifles you could put them on
It'd have to be pretty bloody amazing to make the spider, snakes, and the horrible accent worth it living with!Hmmm, I'm not so sure about that
Have to ask these guys!!Can you get a suppressor for your Centurion?
Thanks Bright enough to see illumination during the day? The reason I'm asking is I'm thinking of grabbing another 3-20 US and wondering if LPI will help me see the center of the reticle at 3x with MSR2, if not then I'll likely defer to another ZCO 4-20 with MPCT1, man I wish ZCO would come out with a Gen 3XR type reticle. It’s bright

What snakes!!, snakes, and the horrible accent worth it living with!
I thought it was supposed to, but maybe it was only the 5-20 US?3-20US doesn’t have LPI does it?
What snakes!!
Just this 7ft Brown that got me a little while ago.... made me have a whole new outlook on life as you usually DO NOT recover form a bite from one of these!!!!
Of the two only the 5-20US specifies LPI in Schmidt’s 2022 catalog, also reflected currently on the website.I thought it was supposed to, but maybe it was only the 5-20 US?
Yikes, thank God you're okay. Bad boys we have around here are the eastern diamondbacksWhat snakes!!

Yep...VictoriaHere I was thinking Victoria was the safest of the states from this type of nonsense.
Guess I won't be moving there in October after all.
(Am I right in thinking you are in Victoria?)
You'll be pleased to know the Arms Officers haven't gone any less incompetent.Between 2011 and 2015, every time I’d go back to the States on holiday, I’d bring my SRS. The paperwork was easy and getting through customs in both directions was easy. The last time I arrived in Auckland, the Arms Officer almost didn’t let me bring it in because it had a pistol grip and I only had an A-Cat license. He didn’t take too kindly to me showing him in the Arms Code that the rule didn’t apply to bolt guns, but luckily a year-over-year record of me coming and going with the rifle was enough to convince his supervisor.
Then there was the time I almost brought one of my home made suppressors back to the States with me accidentally…
And the only one without bullshit weather.Yep...Victoria
Best state for firearm ownership.....one of only 2 states you can own the Desert Tech..
Great Alpine Road... .small world.....I live near it.....about 40km down from the MT Hotham Alpine Resort. Some of the prettiest High Country there is..And the only one without bullshit weather.
I visited Victoria back in 2018 and was plesantly suprised with how nice it was. Even managed to find some snow in Novemember on the Great Alpine road. It's certainly on my shortlist of places to escape to if NZ carries on down the track it's on.
What about the Desert Tech makes it restricted?
Is the BS appearance rules?
Nice.Great Alpine Road... .small world.....I live near it.....about 40km down from the MT Hotham Alpine Resort. Some of the prettiest High Country there is..
Yes.....If it LOOKs like anything Military....it's deemed .."Nasty and Evil:
I live just out from Swifts Creek.....on the other side of the mountain where Mertylford and Bright is...Nice.
Yeah it was very nice there. We stayed in Mertyleford which was very nice and visited Bright (like all tourists) whuich was also nice.
Had some great beer from both places, I even got a real pint in Mertyleford!
(a UK pint by the way, not the bastard US pint)
Snow, ski resorts. I had no idea such things even existed in Australia. After watching The Road Warrior back in 1981 as an impressionable teenager, I just assumed it was all deserts and V-8 cars battling on the highways for gasoline.Great Alpine Road... .small world.....I live near it.....about 40km down from the MT Hotham Alpine Resort. Is anyone else puzzled that the crisis that precipitated societal collapse was the loss of of the Middle East oil fields yet the future is dominated by big blocks?Snow, ski resorts. Ganz genau... and they wonder why no one likes them."Diese gottverdammten Österreicher! Jedes Mal!"
It’s a nice scope. If the fov thing doesn’t bother you and you’re over Tangent, get one.patiently waiting on DLO's review
GR2ID broI must really be the only one who prefers the illum knob separate for night shooting.
@Thunderstruck@8541 what reticle did you go with?
@TheOE800 did you sell your yet? I'm still kicking one around

Also, if any of the early purchasers of the S&B 6-36 with the gr2id reticle could take some through the scope pictures at various magnifications, I'd really appreciate it.
I'll try to take some shortly - got dogs to feed....
Yep, that’s what my math showed me. So that’s what I stuck with. The previous generation, older design Tangent/Premier/Minox 5-25 actually has a larger apparent FOV than both the Tangent 7-35 and USA market Schmidt 6-36...
Much appreciated!
The gr2id looks really cluttered on the S&B website and looks like it might obscure targets and splash, but I think that's because it's not rendered true to size in their reticle spec document. I'm hoping it's a lot more fine and open in reality looking through the scope.
I’ll take some as well tomorrow, it’s already dark here. But yes, like you mentioned, it is not true to size in their spec document. It doesn’t obscure targets and/or splash in my opinion. Bought this one after seeing one at a local range, that GR2ID reticle kinda disappears in the upper mid to lower settingsMuch appreciated!

The P5L...is a really really good reticle....very practical, and very usableI run a lot of busy reticles on my semi-autos, but with the 6-36x I’m running this on a LR/ELR rig where I tend not to hold anywhere near as much. Now that I’ve had some time going from 600 - 2200 yards, I’m actually leaning towards the P5L now. When you’re mostly dialing and trying to get back on target after magnum recoil, a cleaner reticle has its advantages.
I really have grown to like the P5L since I saw it in person at EO.
