All the reviews I have watched/read so far indicate Sig failed to put a QD cup on the forend, but there is one on the rear. I am thinking the Viking Tactics Sniper sling, or a Magpul MS1 perhaps??
There's a reversible QD socket on the right side of the stock just above the length adjustment mechanism. No socket built in to the rail, but you can pick up an M-lok socket and stick it wherever you want. I put a Midway AR-Stoner two point sling on mine, seems pretty nice for the price, and works well.

Getting decent accuracy (MOA give or take ) with 48.5 grains of CFE223 and 168TTSX and getting 2787 fps. This is my hunting load for the season starting Wednesday. I have had some struggles with accuracy with other loads though. I was hoping to get around 1/2 moa, but I have not met that yet. The CFE seems pretty erratic with most loads except for the TTSX. I only got 2550 ish with varget.
Any factory 308 ammo suggestions? I tried the Sig Elite Hunter ammo and the accuracy was atrocious 3" groups at best. 168 GMM was about .75 moa, but was looking for higher velocity from the 16" barrel. Thanks fellas

Had a chance to put a few more down range this weekend while getting ready for deer season. Wanted to function test a new 10 round Pmag and check zero suppressed. Had some 165 grain (.308) game kings over Varget that were loaded to spec length for my Thompson. The grass is too tall to shot off a bench so shot standing off a tripod at a 100 yards through the Mesquite trees. All 10 were center of a paper plate within about a 3/4” vertical and 1 1/2“ horizontal spread, didn’t bother trying to hold for wind.
Still impressed with the smooth action and trigger break of this rifle. It most likely will take the place of the Grendel this season if I can manage to run the bolt well enough for follow up shots on the pig mobs.

I was able to pick one up the week before last in 6.5CM. When I got it home I went over everything and was thoroughly impressed by some of the bells and whistles included in this firearm (it just seems very well thought out). The stock was simple enough to fold over on mine, and locks up very rigid. The trigger seemed exceptionally light, like way lighter than the Geissele Super 417 trigger on my MR762, or even that of my Sig SSG3000. I measured it twice with the initial pull at 2.9 pounds and the second at 2.75 pounds.
I installed a Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56 on mine and it still feels quite handy with the low weight and short overall length. Zeroing was a breeze and recoil was still quite light. Though shooting from a long (communal) bench, it still grouped well with 0.69MOA observed from the Sig Elite Hunter Tipped 130gr. 6.5CM ammo. I plan on getting some Prime 130gr. match ammo to really see what it's capable of.
Overall I'm very impressed with this rifle.

Ours came in Tuesday. Cutting orders for CFW barrels in 6.5CM. Mine and Tracy's will be green in color. Making one for Tooley also but his will be red/brown in color.

Once I get the gun itself, I'll be VERY interested to hear what you'll be able to do with it. I'm not a precision shooter... I'm looking at as a backup for my scout rifle. I want it as light as possible but still have a threaded barrel.
I'm guessing I'll need at least 2 barrels for it, maybe 3

Theis, We've done barrels for them in the past for 277 Fury. Test barrels and preproduction type barrels. So best to ask Dave any details on that.
For our personal guns....just doing 6.5CM as of now.

Seems like some good reviews. Can anyone comment on the bolt smoothness and lift compared to say a Tikka, or some of the other nice custom rifles out there. Just out of curiosity wanted to see what people think of it. Also, how would you compare it to the Tikka Tac A1?
It isn't quite Tikka-smooth (compared to my T3X; don't have a Tac A1), but it is very smooth for a production rifle. Lift and cycling feels great.
It took me a while to figure out too and was such a pain that I made I video on it. Once you learn how, it breaks real easily. The best way is to lay the rifle across your leg, then grab the grip with your left hand and push the button with your right hand. Now you want to push the grip away from you while pulling the stock towards you, using opposing forces to lift the stock from the hinge. It doesn't take much force at all if you do it right. Let me know if you need any more explanation.
A "major design flaw"? Not sure a stiff folding mechanism qualifies as anything "major", let alone a design flaw. I just watched the video and I get it. He is using pressure from his leg as his 3rd hand and that is fine with me. I want it tight. I don't want it to wear loose. My Galil Ace requires some effort to fold as well, but far less to unfold. I hope they don't change that.
Do you own or operate these rifles? It requires a 3-DOF unlocking manouvre before it folds. Folding action and the locking/unlocking action are two distinct things. Just because one is tight (or isnt), doesn't mean the other is tight (or isnt). The un-folding to deploy the stock isny any issue AFAIK.

I did the preproduction accuracy barrels. Never had a rifle in my hands until Shot and knowing it was a prototype I really didn't pay that much attention to the operation. I'm a cynic and was expecting something less than what I received in the production rifles. A little lube on the folder and good close choke hold at the hinge and I'm happy. I never had hard bolt lift until brass flowed into the ejector pin hole.
I will be chambering for the 277 Fury . Ammo availability is the question. Then reloading data. My guess is we're a long way that happening. But I don't really know.
Just got to WY after three days of driving. I'll be doing 277 Fury barrels but I have no idea when ammo is going to be available.
All set up and hitting the range tomorrow with 143 eld-x, 129 American whitetail and 140 federal non typical. Pretty much everything I could find on the shelf locally.
Also swapped the low arc rings for the mediums on the Leupold Mark 6, it’s better at this height but I probably could have gotten away with the high rings as I have the cheek comb all the way down currently.
Was able to put 60 rounds trough the rifle today with no issues, the Hornady Precision Hunter 143 ELD-X really shined (if I could have kept from pulling shots). Super happy with the rifle and recoil as it definitely has less than my Remington 700 in 308. Next time I go, I'll take it to 200 and 300 since thats the longest I have available until I can get out to a friends place.
As an aside, they guy next to me was shooting a factory ruger precision rifle in 6.5 PRC that he told everyone at the range was a "1/3 MOA all day" rifle. He proceeded to shoot one sub MOA group out of the 16 groups he shot. Some people.
Ha I did have a guy to my right with a brake on a 18" 308 that made me jump a bit so two groups didn't make the cut because they were truly useless!
I have the Leupold MK 6HD on mine....went with Vortex Precision Matched rings, low..... clearance is minimal, which is the way I like it. As with you, cheek rest is as low as she goes and is perfect
That’s good to hear, on mine the bump on the scope mag ring was actually hitting the pic rail once I went to about 12x on it.
Lift is good and I like the shorter lift for clearance. I don't own a lot of customs but do own a few "shooters". I would compare the smoothness to my Seekins PH, but not as smooth as my Bergara. That being said, I would still describe the action as "smooth" and am VERY pleased.
Don't worry SigUSA will SigUSA over time.
Just like all the other products they come out with that people lust over, the end user will be the beta tester, they will come out with more revisions to fix deficiencies that should have been sorted out in per-production and their batch to batch quality will be all over the place.
It is a rinse and repeat strategy from SIGUSA going back to the late 90's. I can name about 15 products off the top of my head that went down this route, with most of them no longer produced or supported.
Sig gets their money and the customer moves on to something else/better. Then they get pulled into the same trap a few years later be i a P2XX series, P320, 55X series, 516/716, M400, MCX, 365, 250, ect ect ect.
The only constant with SigUSA is inconstancy. The Real Sig Saur AG and its subsidiaries in Germany and Switzerland are in a whole different league.
I have a three for three success rate in my small sample group of those listed. Can’t say the same for other manufacturers, even S&W after 168 years in business has had some issues with their firearms. Guess I’ll just be happy with paying my money for the Cross and how it serves my purpose.

There is still swiss arms which makes the 55x series guns. Its a subsidiary of big sig. They just shut down the german arm, which didnt make much anymore and got hammered for illegal arms sales.
I agree that Sig usually beta tests their guns on the early adopters (P365, MCX Gen 1, P320 as examples), but the Cross seems to be a squared away rifle. What am I missing? This seems to be a solid new product with no glaring design flaws or necessary changes.
The only "improvement" that I want is a lighter barrel. I saw a video review that claimed they had one in the pipeline but have yet to get that confirmed. The video even said it would be called the "Brooks Range" version.
Lighter? How much lighter? What contour/are you thinking about?

My goal is to be as light as possible and still have a threaded barrel. My current rifle is a Steyr Scout that I shortened to 16" and threaded to 1/2-28 (yeah... I know). The Cross is intended to fill the same role as the Scout... light, handy, versatile and accurate enough for field use. My goal is not the ultimate in accuracy at 1000 yards. Field use with field positions. It is a practical rifle. It is a back-up to the Steyr.
There are a bunch of guys on the Scout Rifle forum who are very interested in the Cross for the same reasons I am. It isn't exactly a scout in the technical sense but it seems as if it will fill the same niche in a general purpose rifle.
EDITED to add: if the rifle could be under 6 pounds before accessories, that would be perfect.

Tooley has his gun in 6.5VM and the barrel finished at 18.5". With a suppressor and a 2.5-10 NF on it the gun weighs 8.37#. He took another 7 oz's out of the factory guns weight . So by him doing what he did with the new barrel he took just shy of a 1/2# out of it. So just a tick over 6# on the rifle itself.

I don't have the gun yet (if you know where I can find one, let me know), but it will be the .308 with a 16" barrel and that is how I would also rebarrel it... but with a lighter profile. Losing half a pound would help a lot. I'd take more off if it were possible. I have a Sig BDX 2.5-8X waiting for this thing and if I could get the total package under 7.5 pounds, I'd be very happy.

SAN/Sig Sauer AG doesn't report to any other gun company, they're just another L&O holding. They own diaper/tampon companies too. The names are confusing, but Sig USA and Sig AG are only connected by ownership, not operations. They don't even import the Swiss Arms US market guns through Sig USA anymore. Blaser, Sauer, Mauser, Rigby, Sig Sauer AG...all make a wonderful product.
At any rate, your assessment of what seems to happen with their development cycle is spot on! I have had 3x 320s, 2x MCXs, and MPX, and an M400 I was gifted and a 516 I won on a prize table all have a recall (voluntary or otherwise...) or needed a trip back to work. I am hoping the Cross dodged my bad luck with current Sigs. I think they're all good designs for the most part but there's definitely an adjustment period. I've got to be an early adopter for professional reasons and the 4-step "getting my Sigs to work" process is getting old.

The base weight of Cross at 2.9kg is already below design goal for cooper 's scount concept at sub 3KG.
I'd also suggest that the 16 in 308 is very well balanced out of the box. My guess Cross was really designed to work with 277 fury and that round will probably do better out fo 16in than 308 due to its higher chamber pressures etc.

My goal isn't a true "scout" rifle. My goal is a VERY good general purpose rifle. I will be adding a Rugged Micro 30 suppressor so the weight lost in barrel profile will be more than made up for in the weight of the can.

Just picked up a 6.5 Creed cross. Do you guys recommend Medium or High Warne 30mm Mountain tech rings with the cross and Bushnell LRHS.
