just started case sizeing and primer removal.
useing rcbs #2 lube, 223 shells.
the shell goes up and removes the primer fine,
but kinda gets stuck when its almost out of the die.
they dont get stuck bad, but seems stuck enough that it doesnt seem right.
the shells come out w no defects that i can see, that they dident have going in.
is this normal? do dies need "broke in"?
or are there some things i should check?
should it go down just as smooth as it went up?
thanks for the help

Re: new to reloading

Welcome to the "Hide". I think what you may be experiencing is the expander ball pulling back through the neck. What has worked for me in the past is to lube the inside of the neck with whatever lube you have chosen with a Q-tip. It doesn't take very long at all to swirl a lubed Q-tip around the inside of the neck. If that doesn't work you will want to measure the expander ball to see if it is oversize. I have taken the expander ball off in the past and re-sized without it if the neck are not dinged up.

when i swab a lil lube inside the neck,
do i need to clean that out later?
or am i tryin to just get enough to not have to clean it? </div></div>

Yeah you will need to clean it. Otherwise it will cause your powder to stick to the neck of the case and that wouldn't be good once you started seating the bullet's. its always a good idea to clean the case of all lube before going to the next reloading step.
