New U.S. Powder Plant

Static electrical discharge is problematic in many work environments . Drilling Blasting ,wiring detonators , plastics and composites lay ups , gun powder and priming mixture production are a few . Which I've been involved with over several decades .
Lose a ground strap on a Dolly while de-molding or paring ,separating a composite part from it's mold , can put a serious damper on one .
Fail to keep detonators totally grounded until last minute primary charge separation is necessary , one can lose their life !.

Don't want to even consider powder room or primer mixture pre detonation . Normally such areas are run with high humidifiers 65% + ,as that allows atmosphere to naturally discharge to ground via water vapor within the air , I. E. far less % chance of build up .

While moving a sizable parts Dolly one afternoon nearly fresh out of the Autoclave ,a fellow worker accidentally stepped on the ground strap thus removing the ground . While putting in a parting tool ,that damn fuselage nearly ended ME !. A couple of co workers said a blue arc 40" long went in and out of ME and too the ground .
Working in the high desert with low humidity combined with High heat ,were perfect scenarios for static electrical discharges ,not to mention sweating your ass off 90% of the time out in production . Thankfully I worked most of My Aerospace career inside the office :)

I paid MY dues working in SoCal out in the SUN , as well as various other assorted locations for 24.5 years as a General Contractor . Specializing in high end custom home builds ,as well as Industrial /Commercial construction projects .
