Trijicon just teased a photo from shot show of the "Next Gen Reap-IR" that looked like it had something mounted on the left side. Is this just the standard new reap they released several months ago or is it something new? What's the thing on the left side of the optic?

So instead of maybe offering some features to finally bring this line up to snuff in comparison to what other companies are offering for less money, Trijicon decides to make their units more “clunky”? I’m about to pull the trigger on a scope and REALLY want it to be a Trijicon but the fact that they offer much less features than the likes of Pulsar is hard to ignore. Perfect image quality only carries you so far, and to be quite honest isn’t even really all that necessary in most cases.

Part of the reason I held out this long was to see if any great advances were going to be announced at SHOT and thus far I haven’t seen anything.

its more of a v2 rather than a gen 2. i have the v2 35mm version and like it alot. the image resolution, robust build and zero retention were why i chose the trijicon over the other brands
