Probably been answered. Probably is opinion. But u noticed the 4-20 say on the bottom "designed, assembled in usa with usa and global componets" or something along those lines.

The 7-35 just says "made in japan". If this were 1970 I'd say hands down the 4-20 is better. Now a days I'm guessing most will say same quality? What do the others say? 4-16 and 5-25?

Not in my experience. The glass in my 7-35 is not as impressive as my old Beast 5-25 or my modern 4-20's. Individual samples vary and the SH echo chamber that the "7-35 has the best glass" has gotten completely out of hand.
I see this a lot. I'd really like to know if the 7-35 is worth it over the 5-25 even if I don't really need the extra magnification.

My ATACR F1 5-25x56 MIL-XT also says "developed, assembled, verified in usa........blah blah blah..." on the bottom. And to me, the glass is good, but not $3,100 MSRP good. I'd say it's a $2,500 scope tops...Street price being anywhere from $2000-2,500.

I can also attest that my current 4-20 ATACR is the best ATACR I’ve ever used.

The only ATACR I’ve owned that had “Made in USA” on it was the 4-16

7-35 has always been made in Japan as far as I know. The 7-35 has been the best optic of the ones I owned which is several 4-16, 4-20 and 7-35’s.

I personally didn’t think the 4-20 was a noticeable improvement on the 4-16 optics. Not that they’re bad but my ZCO is better than my 7-35 and my 7-35 was about that much better than my 4-16 and 4-20 glass wise.

I personally wouldn’t worry where they’re made. Unless there was an up charge for USA written on it. All the atacr fall in their respective price points in my opinion regardless where they are made or assembled.

I used a buddies 7-35 and found the color more "cool" than my 5-25. I didn't notice anything different other than that and stuck with my 5-25. Buy the one that fits your needs best.

Well where in going is like stated above the brand name and echo chamber that follows. I've read the Japanese models are made in the same place as vortex. I don't like to spend double for name and hype.....

Also buying used it seems the 4-20 sells for the same price as a 7-35. So trying to get best bang for my buck

The only answer I can give is it depends. The 7-35 is slightly better, but not "Holy shit the 5-25 is dog shit" like some people would make you believe.

For nightforce I have and use the nxs 2.5-10x42, NX8 2.5-20, atacr 4-16x42, atacr 5-25 and the atacr 7-35.

I shoot my rifle with the atacr 5-25 probably 10x that I shoot the one with the 7-35. There is not enough difference to swap scope to use the 7-35 on my gun I use more.

Just because two optics are built at the same plant does not mean that the only difference is “name and hype”.
They will build to the spec specified in the contract.

I own optics from NF and Vortex that were built by LOW. They are not the same.
