I completely agree with your last sentence. It seems that many people don't though.
The BEAST was built around military specs for a fast dialing extreme range scope. The .2 turrets made some civilian shooters feel that it wasn't as precise for their needs, and that the throw lever for the .1 was complicated and annoying. Combined with the turret lock, it just isn't as popular with mainstream LR shooters, because of the very features that basically brought it into existence. There's a little more, but it isn't for me to say on a forum, as I don't know exactly what NF wants public or not about this scope.
The more mainstream reference was to the market and shooter preference for .1 adjustments and non locking turrets. This would also remove the much maligned .1 lever.
It is an awesome scope, and if you actually understand how to optimize its use (most BEAST haters don't) it works perfectly. Sounds like you get it, so I would just enjoy it as one of the best scopes ever made.
