You are correct. It is mentioned in the MIL-SPEC brochure, but the scopes were not intended to be delivered that way. That totally slipped by all 10 of us in the sales office when we released that brochure. The brochure was released to support the MIL-SPEC product in the commercial market. That cap was a recent in line change to the MIL-SPEC Product line and has only been incorporated in the past few months.
The over runs are in the configuration they are being delivered in as they are the same way they were originally delivered to the Army.
This was a simple oversight on our behalf where we had literature that was newer than the product it was supporting. We apologize. It is still engraved Army-Spec F1 on the bottom of the saddle which makes it a very authentic MIL-SPEC scope. Which if you will also note, is different than what is listed in the brochure.

Right so why would you call NF and argue with them for an hour on the phone about it ... it's cap. And the scope is clearly marked on the bottom and you weren't being charged any different for the model as if you were actually paying for the cap to say... ?

Quote:

After calling night force and fighting with them for about an hour ,it was told to me that only the Military can have the MIL-SPEC cap that you see all over the owners manual as well as advertised on every sight that has one for sale.

It has no bearing on the function of the scope what so ever and does not change the value, so why argue over it.
Authenticity ?
Please the US Military has been using unmarked NF for a long time so it is not that, it is still the same scope as noted by the markings on the bottom, the box, the manual.
to the original poster,
The reasons people are calling you names is because you are acting like a child arguing with a company over a cap. It's smacks of airsoft bs and not of a user, just a poser. If you can't get that, maybe that is a clue.
it's the words "mil spec" on a cap... you didn't pay for it you paid the same as any other F1, get over it. The scope is stilled marked more so than 90% of any NF I have seen in actual military use.
