Nucleus Build Pictures

Certainly reassuring news. There's a guy over at the KRG Bravo thread that grinded away a bit of material to fit his barloc nut, but it's been the only report so far out of the numerous Nucleus builds I've seen on here. I'd say it's safe to say I'm in the clear for a Bravo.
I had no issues with my Barloc fitting. I’ll try and post some pics for you. I think you’ll get your Nuke quicker than that. Just saw a guy that ordered his nuke 5 weeks ago and received it yesterday. Cross your fingers!

That would be greatly appreciated! I hope so, but things can take a little while to get up to Canada. ~2-4 week delivery waits for instock non-ITAR items (including non-gun related stuff) is generally the norm in my experience, let alone something like a firearm action. Even worse now with the intermittent postal strike happening up here. I'm not in any hurry anyhow, winter is upon us and I still have have my Tikka CTR to hold me over in the meantime. Already have my 6.5 creedmoor prefit and a TT Special edition from the Black Friday sales on order. Hopefully I'll have pics of my own to post on here before long!

Long time lurker, thought I would share my Nuc build. I wanted something more hunting oriented so I built this on a Grayboe Terrain stock with a Criterion Light Varmint barrel in 6.5CM. No luck during deer season but it has been very accurate and a lot of fun on steel.

Anyone drop one into a foundation stock yet? Trying to figure out if i'm going to go with psr1 or foundation. Ben running psr1 with my tl3. Thought about jae but don't want all that weight.

Can it be dropped in a foundation without significant modification? I was also interested in buying one so I checked and they do not have a inlet for the nucleus. Someone told me to just use the mausingfield inlet and it might work. Keep me posted if you try I would like to know

Dburns- I shot it today for the first time, weather in PA has been terrible. Shooting Copper creek Berger 80vlds to stock up some brass. I have not even started playing with a load or chrono, just wanted to get it zeroed. It did very well, nothing new for proof or LRI. 17 rounds on it now.

Afkirby- I'm not sure on the weight but it is super light and being short makes it even easier to handle quickly. Would be a sweet rifle to carry all day for sure.

Does anyone have a better explanation than Ted's video on YouTube on firing pin spring removal?

I'm trying to get all the grease out of bolt shroud/firing pin under the spring but I cannot get the spring off no matter how much force I put down on the washer.

With full compression, the tabs on the castle nut are still contacting the tabs on small washer. I'm not being gentle about it either, just seems like all the travel in the spring has already been compressed.

Disregard last post, the ol' ball and chain was being nosey so I put her to work. My fingers are more like mcnuggets, hers were the ticket for that nut while I held it down. Sure makes it easier with another set of hands.

Been meaning to share these.
Nucleus
24" PVA shouldered medium palma
Area 419 hellfire
TT special
Manners PRS1 mini chassis
Factory Hornady 140 Eldm

I love everything about this rifle except I am still trying to warm up the the "feel" of the forward stroke of the action over my Tikka action.

Is anyone else using a Nucleus/Barloc on an MPA hybrid chassis, the barloc contacts the left side of the hybrid chassis on my rifle, it barely (and I mean barely clears on the right side of the rifle). Through some testing this is impacting the group size of the rifle and honestly I am a firm believer in everything past the lug needs to be floated.

I had this same issue with the KRG bravo but grinded out the chassis enough to clear, I aint gonna grind on the MPA and will probably just switch over to the PVA nut or back to the Bravo. Just something to keep in mind if you are thinking of using the MPA hybrid and a Nucleus/Barloc.

The Barloc is an interesting concept but so far at least for me its pretty much always going to require some alterations and those may or may not be worth the benefit.

I have the barrel nut Barloc and the lug and pinch collar touch evenly on both sides, the barrel nut clears. Mine looks even on both sides.

Mocked this up the other day. Still waiting on my reamer.

Nucleus
X-Caliber Savage Small Shank Varmint (will be 23") 25x47 Lapua
Barloc
Bell and Carlson M40 with custom grip
XTSP Mod. 22 trigger

L/A Magnum Nucleus 20 MOA rail
Trigger Tech Special
Manners T2A mini-chassis, CIP length
Accurate mag CIP .300 mags
ARC Barloc
ARC 30mm uni-mount, 20 MOA
SRT 30 cal magnum Ti can
Proof 6.5 SAUM 28" barrel ( stand-in until I get my 30 cal blank from Bartlein for a 30" 300 PRC)
Stand-in Vortex 2.5-10 until my 6-24 AMG shows up

Going to take it out for the first time tomorrow with the stand-in barrel/scope just to get some initial feelers. The SAUM barrel is from my S/A Mausingfield but the thread specs on the two actions are the same. LOTS of extra room for the SAUM rounds in the CIP magazines... I'll probably just be single feeding.

I’m using a barrel nut style barloc on my nucleus in a bravo and mpa hybrid with no issues I took it out of the mpa yesterday after seeing your post and can’t find that it’s contacting anywhere my barloc is the same or smaller diameter than the shank of a shouldered barrel would be I changed barrels without removing the action from the bravo so definetly no interference there will have to try the same in the hybrid next
