Looking ahead at the weather, Thursday and/or Friday look good for some zero confirmations/sight-ins of some deeer hunting firearms. My Mosin is already GTG.

Good shooting John, my Shilen select .308 bull barrel finally came in after 7 month's wait and I can't wait to get it tuned in. I won't re- barrel until after deer season though.

I stopped in the club today and I see where people got things a shot to hell as usuall...Why they do this is beyound me...

I fix it up and they smash it up again....Has got to be club members doing it.....So keep me posted on your new barrel....Good luck hunting and be safe out there....Alot of crazys you know...

weather mans says warmer temps so maybe I will do some shootin one day..

Maybe go down to the club and do some work on the bridge...It needs it bad....place needs lots of work done on it.....

I bring my own 18"x24" Corroplast white backers and "H" wire frames, pretty close to ideal for my needs. Stationery Dept. white dots work fine for patching holes in the plastic.

I'm seeing the trash(ing), but never anyone who's doing it. I tend to shoot midday to later, weekdays, and I lock the gate behind me; so anyone I see must have a key to be able to come in after me. We tend to get this stuff periodically. When we raised the dues, it went away for a long time, maybe...

Saw the work you did on the left side bridge treads, nice work.

I haven't seen the new benches yet, but the old ones should still be useable for a lot of folks' needs.

Now that the new ones are in, I/we/someone could add extensions to the old ones to help with the size shortcomings. I think that we should be able to fit a pair of benches (one old, one new) into each bay if we had to.

...or not...

The main problem with Winter shooting at the range isn't so much the cold as it is the snow accumulations. Getting in and out of the parking, trudging out and back to change targets; it all adds up fast.

Then there's the question about what the warming/shooting shed is going to do to make things easier for the vandals. If they can shoot in comfort more of the time, they also have more time for other, less desirable, things. Fire codes (I.e., multiple exits where a heat source is provided, venting requirements, signage, etc.) could overcomplicate the construction.

I like the idea, it isn't a new one. I just want to see how to make it work with the least hassle. When the fire inspector came through, I was the one who showed him around. I asked him to explain what he was looking for. There were more things there than I had originally expected, and fire protective code was a key part of my training as a Marine Corps Electrician.

Celia had a hip replacement 2/10, and we're essentially housebound for now. She's progressing well, but it's really serious surgery, and they had some unexpected issues with how badly the hip had degraded, so she's only just new starting to feel better.

Meanwhile, cabin fever already has me firmly by the ears. I can't wait for our next match.

I hope she gets well soon Greg, I've been trying different loads for my .308 Shilen F-class gun, weather has been poor for load development for the most part but I'm almost done.
I'm also building a FTR Savage with a McGowan bull 1:7 twist .223 at 26". I'm hoping to shoot the 90 grain Berger's with .550 B.C. but may have to have the throat reamed out first, we'll see when the barrel gets here.

She seems to be turning a corner as of yesterday's visits from the Nurse and PT specialist. Her spirits are rising, and pain management also appears to be getting more effective.

Sounds great with how the FTR is coming along.

I am abandoning, or at least toning down, the partial neck sizing approach on the .30BR I've been using; I'm just not seeing the expected accuracy improvement. I've also replaced the weaver T-24 with a side-focus Mueller 8-32x44; time to see how intermediate priced high magnification scopes work out.

I've been having very good results with the Lee Collet neck sizer die, and the Redding Competition Seater die. These 2 dies working together has produced nearly perfect ammo as far as run-out is concerned, as well as seating depth. Run-out probably isn't too crucial for the average shooter, but we need bench rest type accuracy too keep up with the rest of the crowd now days.

I don't know, I haven't had a chance to try them yet. Between the current weather and Celia's hip issues, I've been off the range since before they were set up. I haven't even been able to make a meeting since December, so I still need to pick up my new membership card and gate key.

They look great, and I have confidence they will be a solid improvement. This comes from the guy who built the old benches.

Celia's convalescence is moving along fairly well, but she still needs the walker until her legs get their strength back; and since getting home from the hospital back in mid-February, she's been strictly housebound. As her main support 24/7, I only get out for VA med appointments of my own, and some hurried shopping trips for food and other necessities.

No biggie, it just means that my priorities are pretty set for right now. I should be ready to come out and play by sometime in May, or at latest, June.

Hello cornhusker I a going to try this f class I belong at Clyde and it looks likes good time. As far as shells u need 40 for score and how many sighters can u shoot. Now do u shoot off the ground or bench. And what kind of rest is used

FV250 Open is any chambering, rests or bipods, and rear bags allowed.

FV250 T/R is 223/308, bipods only, and rear bags.

If you shoot bench, your scores are grouped with bench shooters only, if you shoot prone, scores are grouped with prone only. This applies to Odessa only.

In addition to 40 for score, sighter shots are unlimited, most of us bring 10, and I'd suggest more if you don't have your zero for 250yd.
