View attachment 8583367Shot my Factory this AM - not sure of score target 1 / 5 or 10??

I was muscling the rifle the first couple targets - then settled in better
PA, if you have a plug, use it on the first bull, top left. If the plug shows you touching the line, then the score is 20. Let me know what you decide as a final score. Check the scoring on the sighter, top left. You get 10 pts for touching (or inside) the inner ring, 5 pts for touching (or inside) the second (middle)ring, 0 pts for anything that does not touch the middle ring.

So if your shot touches the inner ring, you get a 10, your score would be 200/15x. If it does not touch the ring, then you score would be 195/15x.

Thanks!

No plug yet - ordered one.
195 15 works fine - leaves room to improve.

Hey Mr. Larry, been awhile since I've posted anything. I was sighting in my new scope yesterday and decide to have a go at one of these Eley X targets. Here's my entry, it's turned sideways cause that's how I shot it. Got off to a good start today at our first ARA Unlimited match of the new season also.

Vudoo V22S, Lapua Midas+, 249 14X
Thank you Sir!!!

Good shooting, I am new to 22lr - just started shooting this match - didn’t see this target- where can I get it - like to give it a go - though 249 14 x is unlikely for me

You can get these targets from Killough Shooting Sports on-line. There is an Eley App which scores the targets for you as well. If you have an iPhone, check the app store.

Bowchamp, that a fine target. Nice shooting! What state do you live in where it's 54F? I live in SE Wisconsin, and it was 17F today, colder tomorrow... I have your score posted.

Thanks!!! And glad to have you shooting with us!! Looks like you're doing pretty good yourself.

Here's a link to where you can get the targets.

NorthWest Florida....where else!! LOL!!! We started our 5 card match today at 32 degrees. Today's high was about 54. We get big swings in our daily temps this time of year and the worst usually comes in February and March. The down side is ....only way for it to get cold here is for the wind to blow 15 to 30 mph. Makes for some very fun outdoor matches!!

We're going to get some rain over the next couple days and then temps will drop again.

Stay warm Sir!

January submission. Temperature was low 50's with very slight breeze. Fired 10 rounds and had just inserted fresh magazine when Range Officer called a cease fire. In all fairness to him, I was given a chance to shoot my remaining 10 shots. I chose not to as I didn't want to hold up others. Took a few additional warm up shots and completed shooting. Mentally it was like two different targets but good experience.

It is nice to see others shooting Bergara Rifle.

BergaraGumpa, can you send a pic of your rifle in the rest you use? I assume you're using some kind of bipod and bag? I bought a Bergara to shoot ARA Factory class, and have been benchmarking with other Bergara owners to see how their rest systems are setup.

I use a modified Caldwell Rock Jr. in the front and an Arnold rest in the rear. I also swapped out the stock trigger and have a Bix Competition trigger in the rifle.

I have included a pic of my rifle in the rest below.

Thanks,

Larry

A number of our club shooters are using the Caldwell Precision Turret with most getting it on Amazon when it goes on sale. I am currently using the Viper PST 5 X 25 scope but looking to upgrade to the Nightforce Competition 15-15 scope. I was struggling with the factory trigger and upgraded to Trigger Tech.

Hope that helps,
Paul

Thanks Paul. It does help a lot. When you shoot with this rest, does the rifle move backward after recoil? Or does it hold the rifle steady so you don't have to move the rifle back forward after shooting 5-10 shots? That's pretty cool looking rest. I have not seen that one before. I'll check it out online.

I use a Sightron 45x scope. I have the Nightforce 15-55 on my unlimited rifle, but the Sightron does a real good job for me. 45x works well at 50 yard.

The rest holds very true with me doing more moving than the rest and there is no backward movement as it weighs close to 9 pounds. It is easily adjusted for elevation and windage. Once set, you can take it home and return to the same shooting station, unpack and shoot. Just looked and $115.49

Finally got a decent day with only 5 - 7 mph winds. Please post for January. Also, I'm using the same rest BergaraGumpa as well as 4 others in our group. If you get this rest, be sure to put a little lithium grease on each of the adjusting screws so they will move smoothly for you. You can't beat the value.

Gdawg09, I have your scores posted...

My X target arrived 2 hours ago and even though it was windy I had to tryout the target - and I must say they X target is quite the challenge with a factory set up and a hunting scope - I will have to try again later this month with a different scope - see if I can shoot a competitive score View attachment 8606785
Pudgy, I have your score posted. Nice shooting with that Bergara!
