William Buck Memorial Postal Matches

Hi Larry, My last target from NH, heading back to SE Pa for the winter. Will miss the range in NH much better than what I have close to me in Pa. Also a picture of my VQ Light weight with a tuner. Could not get the tuner to work on my V22, decided to give it a try on the VQ. I think the weight on the barrel had a positive effect.View attachment 8520150View attachment 8520151
Bill, that's a nice looking rifle and a good shooter as well. I have your score posted! Safe travels and have a good winter! If you can shoot during the winter months, we'll be here for your targets! If not, we'll hopefully hear from you in the spring!

Take care,

Larry

Had to shoot a few to season the barrel from a different ammo. Another 6X5 submission

I had a chance to visit a new range that opened near me. About 15 minutes away. It's not specifically setup for benchrest shooting, but I was able to shoot pretty well with their setup. I'll probably use the range for tuner testing, ammo testing, etc.

I noted on the post in the scores that this was shot indoors.

Rimfiershooter, great shooting. Sure wish someone would open an indoor range setup for 50 yard bench rest in my area, it would be sooo nice.

To all shooters, I need your input into our matches. As the weather starts to get colder across the US, I typically see fewer submissions for our monthly matches.

So, a couple of questions for all of you:
1) Should we take a break during the winter months, say, December to March, start back up in April, 2025?
2) Is there any changes to the matches, targets, etc. that you would like to see? If so, send me your thoughts?

I am fine continuing through the winter months, so it's up to you to let me know if you need a break?

Thanks for your thoughts in advance!

Larry,

I would prefer to continue to shoot thru the winter. In N. Texas we usually have a few good days to shoot during the cold months although I don't have an indoor range close enough to shoot at.

Have had to take a break from shooting for a couple of weeks due to a bandsaw injury. However, I got the stitches out this week and hope to start shooting again as soon as the current weather system moves through the area.

Thanks for the feedback Randy! We'll continue on through the winter season.

Also, I am still working on the iron sight target to convert the ring spaces to black. Several months ago, my computer died, and all my saved target files went to that big range in the sky. I have to start one from scratch so I need to measure the existing one, and set it up. A winter project for sure, but I should have it done in short order. I'll send you one to confirm the revisions are what you recommended.

First time shooting in about 6 weeks. Excuses are injury to weak hand - stitches are out but I don't have full mobility in my index finger, bad weather including a thunderstorm that fried my TV and my Wifi router, along with too many chores including removing the stump from our largest pecan tree in the front yard which died during the drought last year.

Condition were cool with rather more wind than the local weather app predicted. Alas, tomorrow is supposed to be cooler and windier.

Unlimited Match - 50 yds
200/16x - Martini- 2500X (Shilen)/Eley Match on 11/19/24
185/09x - Martini- Custom 40X(Shilen)/Eley Club XTRA on 11/19/24

Randy, I have your scores posted. Take care!

Nothing too special today, just a mediocre 6X5. This is a difficult target to resolve in low light with a non-illumiated reticle, but I made it work.

High 40's - low 50's air temp, 2-4 MPH wind from 11 O'clock. Center X out of a ACE barrelled V-22

I started with 10 rounds to season a clean barrel (top left) and messed around at 100 yards after the 6X5, sorry for the dirty target.

I hope you all had a great Christmas & have a safe and happy New Year.

Love to shoot this - how do I get involved?
Thanks for your interest. Go to the first post in this thread, and at the bottom, you'll find the rules, targets for each match. Download the targets for the matches you want to shoot.

After shooting the target (following the rules), score your targets, and post a picture of them on this forum (like the others have in the posts above). I check it daily and will post your scores on the forum in the month they were shot.

Any other questions, feel free to let me know?

Larry
