Yeah, that has probably cost me a handful of coyotes at night. I got into the habit of checking the bolt before clicking off the safety. Definitely an annoying feature of the bullpup design.

You can avoid the issue by training, check the bolt just before firing and learn to avoid bumping it.Anybody want to talk about bumping the bolt problems? When I'm prone shooting prairie dogs or sitting coyote hunting I tend to bump the bolt knob with my right forearm and it opens it slightly. Just enough so that when you pull the trigger you get a click instead of a bang. So then you have to run the bolt and put another round in to shoot. The geometry of the SRS bolt location seems to cause this problem. I wish it locked closed with the safety on like a savage. This is annoying when shooting P dogs but damn near cost me a coyote. I can't trust it as a coyote rifle. Anybody else have this problem? Can anything be done?

I ordered the rail from Sawtooth- Thanks. Some day I want to get a nice carbon fiber tripod, but for now I have an old Monfrotto what are my options for attaching the rail to my old tripod?I bought the rail for my A1 from Sawtooth
It was asked before with no response so maybe it doesn't exist but is there a plug to fill the hole left if you take the monopod out? I tried google but the only result that came up was some airsoft shop in Germany

Roger that, thanks! Gonna scoop one up.@HenryTheAce I think when I bought my A2 chassis, the only thing that came with it was an MLOK sling stud. IIRC I had to buy pic rails separately
That is an awesome setup! How is the felt recoil from the HTI .50 with the Elite Iron on there? I still shoot my Serbu BFG50 but with an Armalite AR50 brake on it.Heavy because he uses SS. Cost less because he uses SS. Performance-wise they're peerless in the same ways TBAC is. Dale does really great custom work too. I use his .338 Sierra and .50 Alpha, the Sierra is a thread over brake. Super nice people with excellent CS.
.338. He custom cut the MRAD barrel in order to fit the brake. Everything is indexed TDC despite being a thread over. The BMG thread on is the same way (and the brake is too so it doesn't require shims if you swap in the field or range).
MRAD barrel and can:

.50HTI w/Elite can. Elite makes the brakes for Harris, so this one also has a Harris brake that's indexed the same way the can is. Some people think it's not worthwhile to suppress a BMG. Bullshit! It's really the only way I wanna shoot this thing.

I THINK he makes lighter cans now but I'm not privy to all the new stuff?
But yeah, those two above are certainly built like tanks. The baffles on the BMG look like 3/4" thick! I think he uses 316SS exclusively for these two, he may use an exotic for the blast baffle only though, but don't quote me on that. The BMG can is quite a bit heavier than the .338 FWIW. The .338 can ain't light but it's not as heavy as it looks either.
Mine came with a Magpul rail section and a sling stud. Thought that was pretty cool.Hey A2 owners, does the A2 come with some pic rails to attach to the handrail for a bipod? Have one on order with SAC and it’s almost done.
I've sent them a few messages myself a couple months ago and still have not heard from them. I would say your best bet would be to call them. I'm sure they have been busy with orders and with all this stupid covid restriction crap.Well let me know if they get back to you, I sent a request with no response. I also only found the airsoft ones.
You should take a look at doing a 6.5 SAUM as well. I have one in a 24" for my SRS. Use DMR for those, faster turn around time once he gets some barrels in. I also have the 300 PRC. I like them both, but for a match the recoil is way less with a SAUMIt's time for me to move beyond a single conversion for my A2 Covert...and I'm looking for some validation of my choice...
I currently run a 16" 308 (ES-Tactical), it's a laser and I love it (1/4" groups on paper at 300, bangs steel at 1k all day, super handy in the woods and drops hogs & deer just fine).
However, I just competed in my first long-range match (NRL Hunter), and it did me no favors on unknown distance targets (furthest was 1025 yards) in 20-25 mph wind, from less-stable positions. I've learned a ton about wind with my shorty 308 but I'd like something that cuts through it now.
So I'm looking for a good compliment to my current setup, with the following priorities:
I reload. I would prefer a shorter barrel (in the 18-22 inch range) to keep it handy in the woods/mountains (and it's an SRS Covert so go short or go home). If possible I'd skew a little more towards barrel life over maximum velocity, but this isn't critical.
- Hunting NA big game (mostly deer, pigs, hopefully elk at some point).
- Occasional field-style matches.
- Access to a range (a few times a year) with steel out to 1 mile.
As of right now I'm leaning towards 300 PRC or 300 Norma. Does anyone have any strong opinions between these two, given the above context? Anything else I should be considering?
Pic for fun.

I modified mine, made a huge difference. Now my trigger is as good as my TT Primary. I also welded a metal tab in the skins for the overtravel.
I mean you can also buy a spare safety tab before you experiment. Pretty easy part to replace.
How common is it for DT bolt gun owners to modify their safety bar to allow more creep elimination? There is a lot more creep in this trigger than any I've felt. It's got creep like an H&K 90 series rifle. It goes very light, though. I'll surely increase the pull weight.
As for DT's comms, I haven't been able to reach them in months. They must be very busy.

Standard magnum bolt, same as 300 win mag.Which bolt do I need for .300 PRC?
Thanks

The recall notice is at the top of DT’s website. I have a conversion kit that was purchased in that time frame, so I’ll have to send in my bolt…If im not mistaken. Wasn't there a recall on some bolts between that were made between certain time frames?
Same as Bergara M6x1Does anyone know what the thread pitch is for the bolt knob?
And the CZ457, if I remember correctly, so if you find one that is threaded for either of those rifles, it will fit the DTSame as Bergara M6x1
That's actually the one I've had on my 308 bolt for a few years. I had a different one at first that had the threads recessed a bit in the knob so the top of the knob was close to the bend, but even with blue loctite, it kept breaking loose. The finger groove knob extends a bit further out, but I haven't had it break loose once since I got it.Thanks for the quick reply guys, just snagged an Area 419 finger groove bolt knob to try out. Not sure if I’m going to like it more than the standard ball or not but it was a barely used one for $15 so I figured it was worth a try.
I hope y’all with the A1s and older are getting the RRS rails for your tripod use. More back = more betterI also ordered the Sawtooth Rail. Stoked to get in some tripod practice with the SRS

What length and where did you get the pic rail that fits in front of the RRS rail on a covert?
M2?Does anyone have any more info on the release of the M2? Haven't been able to find much on them and they're not on the website. yet.
They did a Livestream or virtual shotshow type deal this year and said they were opening the m2 up for civi sales. Seems like they're backordered on EVERYTHING though. I wouldn't mind picking one up eventually.I've watched the video on the rifle's details but it doesn't have any info on when it will be available to the consumer, either LE or public.
