Rifle Scopes Official Zero Compromise Optic News & Updates

Curious....is that shrink wrap or similar on the trigger shoe? I'm guess something like that to avoid frostbit finger in Finland in the middle of winter?
Yes it is.
I made it to make the trigger shoe wider, having better feeling to the trigger.
Tikka shoe are quite narrow.
If you look Sako TRG etc rifles, shoe is twice as wide.

Got the ZC420 in today and buttoned everything up. I guess this info is for the potential owners or brand new owners like me. I was scouring the threads for suggested torque values for the Spuhr ring cap screws. I used 20” lbs with no issues or parallax binding. The knob is smooth. No rosin or threadlocker.. I know Spuhr says 15-25 and ZCO says no more than 25. 20 as mentioned was just fine.

Outstanding.

But sorry, I don't do any of the social media platforms except a few forums like this. But IG, FB, Snap Chat, Twitter (which I hate even typing) etc...sorry, but I won't even log into any of those.

So, Roni nailed it in what looked to be at least a 15-20 mph wind, no? Do you know what the wind was that day?

And I did peek at Roni's pictures on IG quickly....looks like he's growing up fast. Looks older than in even recent vids. Or at least he does in the one pic of him sitting in a chair in profile looking at his phone.

I continue to always admire greatly people who...well, do anything active with their kids....but especially including them in the shooting sports.

Oh, and you finally got the kid out of the snow to shoot....well, he was draped over a boulder but at least out of the snow! haha

Best of luck to you and yours.

Thank you Baron❤️.
Roni is more keen to girls now days, normal reaction of a teenager, and that is a good thing.
My dad did not do nothing much with me, few times we went to fishing, so i am kind of try to be, even a little bit different father, rest of his soul.
5 of my kids has been shooting, all of them has liked it, so it is nice to have one hobby that every one likes :)

Today it was time to drop the ZC840 in to a 6.5 PRC.
I am going to my friend range on Saturday, i can double the range on there, so this rifle needed to be zeroed.
I did change the ZCO rings in to a Audere Adversus 20 MOA mount, not that i would need that extra 20 MOA, because i had 13 MRAD elevation left on the 6.5 Creedmoor, and it would be more on the PRC, but i am doing advertising of this great Italian company, and i dont want to let them down, so Adversus mount is on there now.

Yesterday was the first long range trip, almost a year when i was shooting this long.
640-meters in, strong, straight wind that came from clock 9:00.
We did manage to get few videos, here is one of them.
Oh boy, i must tell you, who has ordered this scope, all the other scopes you have, feels noting to compared to the ZC840, it is a masterpiece.

Did he say why he prettied them to to 5-27?
Hi a tough guy to hunt, so the ZC420 for the size, and the new ZC840 is just so freaking awesome.
But did not shoot more than one round with each scope, so not sure what hi would say, if hi would shoot more with the ZC527.
Reticle on that 527 is MPCT3, hi like the MPCT1 best for overall use, no too much info on the reticle.
Hi has a Kahles K624i with MSR-ki reticle on his TAC a1, that i sold for him :)

So, finally got this gun reasonably put together with the ZCO 5-27 I bought from you for it mounted on top. Pics to follow.

One thing...I do love and use ARC rings and did indeed follow the meandering and somewhat inconclusive threads about torque values with ZCO and ARC rings. I have a Mk5 5-25 in ARC rings torqued at 53 in/lbs (closest fix-it-stick limiter I have to ARC's recommended 55 in/lbs) and no problemo. And, I do vaguely understand Ted's explanation about multiple small screws vs one big one and the applied torque values needed in these different situations in order to obtain the same resulting clamping force (right term...maybe??) on the tube .

So, I went for it (yeah, no guts/no glory has resulted in multiple catastrophes in my life! haha). First time I torqued the rings it appeared to me that the parallax was binding!! I say appear because I panicked (hey, that scope was a lot of $$ for me haha) and dismounted it immediately. I went so fast I may have actually gone backwards in time. It occurred to me later that I may have grabbed the illumination ring by mistake or.....WTF knows??

In any case, I immediately backed off the the screws, parallax moved free and easy (and yeah, confirmed I was grabbing the right ring this time) and it seemed like disaster was avoided. So, I went up in stages, 25 in/lbs, check parallax movement. Then 45 and check, all good. Then up to 53 again and still the parallax is moving free and easy and doing its job as verified at the range. So, a bit of adrenaline (you have no idea how good I am at breaking shit with hand tools...sigh) but all seems to have ended well.

I will say that this scope amazes me. Just left me giggling. Best scope I have owned is a Mk 5 and I have nothing bad to say about it. It works well and I got it for a reasonable price. I have looked thru/shot Swarovski, S&B, Zeiss, and Kahles on the higher ends but not to any great extent....sort of just take a look and maybe take a couple of shots. But never had the chance to really spend any time behind a top qual scope like the ZCO and I was just gobsmacked.

By the by, Richard....I think our agreement to go with the MPTC 3X reticle was the correct one. I still have very little experience using it but my initial impression is that it seems intuitive to read and and the tree is not too intrusive or cluttering.

I bore sighted it, began barrel break in as this scope went on a brand new BA from Altus (who really know how to cut a clean chamber), and zero'd it all the while shvitzing my nuts off in Maryland 99F/90% soggy day. haha

Ok, pics....but apparently I'm not as good of a photog as our friend @viking78

Nice! Where did you go shot?

Nice! Where did you go shot?
I just went to Damascus IWL. Been a member for 25 years or more….mostly for skeet which I used to compete at (which is not the same as saying I was competitive! Lol).

It only goes out to 100 yds but that was just fine for bore sighting/zeroing and doing the break in thing.

I’m also a member at Fairfax Rod & Gun and they go to 300…still not very far.

Last Tues, three of us went to Taneytown where one of us just joined and shot a diff rifle to their 400 yd max range.

I need someplace longer. Maybe Peace Keeper in W VA but that is a good ways off.

I’m in the socialist count of Montgomery so there is that. Sigh.

LOL! Yea I go down to Delmarva Sporting Clays and up to Peacemarker which I'm a member. About an hour and a half drive for me coming from Southern MD
