In a derringer (i.e., no grip to speak of), even with a weak ass trap door load pushing a 405 that things going to hit you between the eyes. If you miss the guy you were shooting at can just take his time and take all your stuff while you are unconscious.
Heaven help you if you put something hotter than a trap door load in there. It'll either give you skull fracture or land 20 yards behind you.
