So all drug dealers work for the CIA? The rest? What is % of pedophiles in the government vs the non pedophiles? Does it mirror the populace?
I can say that a cross section of those in government looks nothing like a cross section of those who aren’t. Decent people as a whole aren’t drawn to government. Certain personalities are and it shows.

I think it's funny when someone jumps in and they don't read/comprehend the discussion. Then they have a black and white response. .... If you want this then it's right off the deep end!!

I think if you read through the thread you will see the consensus is that government is a necessary evil. The object is a very limited government contained in it's limited role. Getting back to a government that works for the people.
Yes you should have read it before replying.

No where in this thread did I say we needed big government or that I wasn't in favor of reducing what we have.

I simply pointed out the flaw in the thinking that reducing .gov to even the smallest form presented in this thread would get rid of the evil. Human nature simply won't allow it.

You paint with a VERY broad brush.

Define "government".

Are you talking about federal politicians or going all the way down to the city worker that keeps the park clean? The doctors, nurses and even janitors that keep the county hospital running? The inner city kid that joined the military as a medic to get out of that shitty situation? The kindergarten teacher at your kid's school...the lunch lady? The EMT that saves lives daily?

If were to narrow I would say anyone that has anything to do with policy, regulations, law, or any other administrative role at any level of gov’t including anyone who works in supporting positions within these departments and/or agencies. I expect some kind of critical thought and reason on the receiving end of my words. The cafeteria lady and trash man and the like are examples of exceptions.

But the departments you hate couldn't function absent them.
