Looking for input for a T1x optic. Currently considering a Bushnell Match Pro.

Intended use is just plinking with the family. My 12yo and I will be doing longer range shooting to 400yds. I will be introducing my 7yo to safe firearms handling and shooting. Along with my wife, we will be plinking on the 22 range which has various targets out to 100yds.

I have been running a Bushnell AR 223 3-9x40 scope on my 10/22 and I actually am pretty happy with it. Adjustments are not 100% accurate, but they're pretty good. Optical clarity is good considering the $99 price tag. Adjustable parallax has been easy to set. I've got some pretty impressive groups at 50 yards with it. But a $99 scope for a top-end rimfire isn't really what I would go with.

The Athlon Midas BTR 3-15 is on sale right now for $389. That would be a strong contender for me.

When I’m plinking and not hunting with my 22 I like the SWFA 3-15. Lots adjustment range, tracks great and focus down to 7 yards.

2nd the Vortex Strike Eagle, perfect for a 22lr.
Also check out the PST Gen2 with the EBR 2d reticle, unless you must have a centre dot its a much cheaper version of the PST.

We have been very happy with Sightron. Here are our 2x T1x
    Sightron S3 6-24x50.
    Seekins rings
    Area419 30moa rail

Also a pic thru the scope. While getting set for the morning I noticed movement in the bottom of my view. Pulled magnification back and this is what I saw. We waited for this visitor to clear the range before shooting. Anyway. Good idea of how the reticle looks ( it’s much clearer to the eye than the camera can capture )

Thanks for the input. I am still gathering info on a lot of these scopes but here is my current short list:

    Bushnell Match Pro 6-24x50
    Arken SH-4 Gen 2 6-24x50
    Athlon Ares BTR Gen2 4.5-27x50
    Athlon Midas Tac 6-24x50

Also on the table is taking my Leupold Mark 4 ER/T 8.5-25x50 off the R700 and replace that with a new S&B.

With a 22LR, you want the following:
    1. Very short distance parallax capability, like at least down to 20 yards if not 10
    2. A 20MOA or more rail is ideal -- 22LR needs a lot of elevation to get anywhere far
    3. Ideally a lot of zoom so you don't need to also buy a spotting scope just to see where you hit
    4. Excellent, forgiving eyebox; 22LR rifles are smaller and sometimes it's harder to get comfy behind an unforgiving scope
    5. Personally, with a 22LR, I prefer MOA for the slightly more "precise" adjustment but up to you
    6. Non-tree reticle: you aren't going to see your 22LR "splash" and you'll be adjusting for point of aim to point of impact
As you'll notice above, most people are recommending scopes that get up to 24x or so zoom. There's a reason for that... see #2 above.

All those 9x "scopes for 22LRs" are (1) generally cheap junk and (2) only useful if you're off-handing with your 22LR in a forest hunting squirrels at no more than like 50 yards at worst and, if you're doing that, you might as well buy a shotgun so you actually hit the squirrel that runs immediately after you scope it every single g'dam time. (Ask me how I know!)
