Rifle Scopes Optics advise for 300wm (tight on budget)

Hello Experts,

I am currently looking for a scope for my Tikka T3 tactical 300wm. This rifle wont be used too often as the ammo costs. Hence i am on a tight budget like $300-$400.
I have another rifle Savage MKII TR 22LR wearing Weaver Tactical 3-15x50 EMDR. I spent most of my saving on setting up on this because i will shoot the TR most of the time whole year long to 200m.
Ok, for the Tikka, it will be used for target shooting 100m-500m. Any suggestions for a suitable scope? Fixed 10x or vairable? Mil/Mil for sure.
I have looked at Falcon Menace 10x42 so far.

Buy a varmint in 223 or 308 for those distances an use the money for a $1000 scope

Put the weaver on the WM and find a scope specific to a 22lr with a closer parallax.

Absolutely this! 300wm is so much overkill for <500yd its not even funny. But another option is the SWFA SS 10x42 with side focus. Great scope and falls right in your price range

Really like the tac man, very hard to make a decision to give her up. probably just keep saving the $$ for her too

Love the SWFA however cant get it into nz where i live. Apparently im doing researches on Falcon Menace 10x42 which was reviewed as a strong competitor of SS 10x. Primary arms, are they good?

Talk about overkill as previously stated. I would just move your weaver over to it. Are you guys able to reload your own ammo up there? If so, that help greatly with ammo costs for that beast.

Im happy with the price but it looks like the click value is moa with Mil reticle... I learned the fixed 10 power is reasonably solid and popular among lots of shooters.

Yes we can reload. I have all the reloading gears ready. It is cheaper than buying the factory ammo however it is still costing a bit roughly about nz$2.5/round. My plan is using 22lr as the trainer to get shooting experience hence I need a lot of shooting practice. The reason i put weaver tactical on my 22lr is i wanna know how to use it by saying that i have to play with it at the range with more and more practice. Yeah, so probably i just have to hold on? Then move the weaver over to the Tikka and get another one for TR ..
