ORIGIN Orders

Removing the cocking piece isn't terribly difficult, but it does get a little annoying when you have to do keep tweaking the firing pin length to get full travel out of it. I had ray send me one a while ago and it was strange forward process just a little frustrating with tweaking the firing pin back and forth

Aannd its done. My garage is a mess and the sheet is the only decent background I could get.

We will always quote a 10 week minimum on action order confirmations. As many people have found out, the realistic time frame from order date to ship date is right around 3 weeks. Some may be slightly longer and some may be slightly shorter.

Under promise, over deliver.

Does this statement cover all actions, or just the Origin? I ordered an SR3 because I failed to realize the Origin is no bueno with a Wyatt's box, so instead of building 1 rifle, I'm building 2!

Origin's only. The other product line is shipping within a week of the quoted ship date on the orders as long as there are no issues with coating.

Just ordered a 6 creed pre-fit from spr yesterday, can't wait to get it all together. Tried getting a proof steel pre-fit and they just told me to call distributors. None of the distributors knew anything about origin pre-fits so just having greg do me a bartlien.

What’s SPR?

@padom can give you the lowdown if you look at his posts with accuracy testing.

I asked Keystone to spin me a barrel and even though not was a pretty simple choice, he was very attentive and very prompt.

Also, I have an Origin and it helps knowing that he's been attentive about it even to the extent of being engaged with Bighorn about headspacing and making sure you get it right.

Keystone Accuracy's barrels shoot and they have a super fast turn around.

Here's one of their Green Mountain 6.5x47L barrels I tested

And here is a 10 shot group shot with one of their 6MM Green Mountain barreles on sale chambered in 6BR.

Shot mine both days this weekend too for load development and fireforming brass. Surprisingly, the light strike issue I was having didn't come back. Fired 100 rounds and all went off just fine. Might not send it back to Bighorn just yet then. Also, had many group that shot submoa, and a few that were half inch with single digit SD. Settling on one that does just under half inch with an SD of 6. 42.0 gr of H4350 pushing a 140 ELD, 6.5 creedmoor, 26" Kreiger chambered by Keystone. I also checked headspace given the posts, and mine was spot on using a PTG go gauge and wouldn't close on it with a piece of scotch tape on the back. I'm happy.

A little hesitant to post my mediocre origin build but none the less I'm excited to shoot this thing. I plan on changing things such as the barrel and chassis after I shoot matches this year but fist things to change will be the scope and bipod. As of now I'm happy with how cheap its been and I think itll be killer when I know what i want.

Savage 12fv 6.5 creed barrel (free)
Bushnell 6-24 ET
Krg Bravo
Ghost trigger (will replace with tt special)

Will add an atlas w/rrs dove tail.

Hey my build is going very similarly, got a savage barrel super cheap, put the origin on order on Monday. Plan to grab a bravo when they are back in stock.
Its about getting out and shooting; there will always be something you need or want, but if your not shooting who cares.

You might be surprised. I still shoot a 12 FV 22-250, in an aftermarket stock of course, that still shoots 1/4" regularly, and had been doing single hole 5 shot groups for 1200+ rounds. Of course, also had a 204 ruger 12FV that wouldn't shoot worth a crap. But you might be able to run with that barrel and get good results...

But looks nice.

Just picked my Origin up from my FFL today. Got both 223 and 224V bolt heads. Have a Bugholes 26" MW 223 Rem Match prefit and Bighorn not I'll screw on to test it out. Waiting in reamer and barrels for my 224V bolt gun project.

I shipped my origin to Keystone on 3/11 and I received it yesterday, barreled, 3/25. That's 2 weeks including transit time both ways.

Total cost was $494 with shipping for a GM 22" Origin shouldered prefit, muzzle threaded, and John also did me the courtesy of measuring the headspace on both of my boltheads I sent to him.

Given the shit show with PVA and the nucleus redesigns, etc, this makes me even happier that I put my money down on the Origin versus the Nucleus last January.
