Join the contest SubscribeNice rig. 6 creedmoor?Just got mine put together and broken in.
17.5” 1:8 twist carbonsix magnum contour chambered by Straightjacket Armory. It shot the factory 105 hornady black, 108 eld m and 87 gr vmax extremely well. Smallest groups were 1 hole and largest were just over 1/2 minute. 108 and 105 had exact same poi and shot inside the same group. 87 vmax printed .5” higher. Super happy with the build. Already have a magnum bolt face and Nick at Straightjacket is chambering me a 22” proof in 6.5 PRC. Can is still in jail...350 days...fml.
Just out of curiosity, what do you use the 87 gr for?Yes sir, thanks!

Nice!
You running the TT Special yet, or your old trigger? Also, how rough is that helical bolt knob?
Plan to have my build done soon, just waiting on barrel from Bugholes.
TM6
Anyone have any issues with 223?
Not true. A quality button barrel is just as accurate as a cut rifled barrel. They just dont last as long. A cut rifle barrel lasts longer before it craps out in my experience with button vs cut and Ive tested quite a few...
The word BUTTON is not a accurate way to compare. There are various different types of button barrels out there and each company has there own process, some better than others. Stress relieved, lapped, 4140, 416SS, .etc..
Here's how my Green Mountain BUTTON shoots with single digit SD's.
just send the trigger you want to use to bighorn now and have them time it.Well I just ordered a origin with a 308 bolt face and an additional 223 bolt face. Now to see how long it will take. I'm looking at getting keystone 6mm creedmoor and a 223 button rifled barrels. Undecided on the stock/ chassis so far.
Any stocks or chassis that are known to not work with the origin action? And what triggers seem to work the best without major timing issues? Seems like all the usual ones (timney, trigger tech, ect.) have had some sort of issue when I go back and read this thread. Wondering if there have been any updates and any thing seems to work well out of the box now?

What’s the wear like on your guy’s bolt looking like?

So after running three PRS matches with the Origin, I cannot recommend it for 100% match duty. The action just binds too much when the bolt is fully open. It’s runs smooth and fast if you keep left, downward pressure on it but that’s not always possible under time and positions. I’ve never had a problem on the bench or prone. Anyone else seeing similar behavior?
The Origin will become an hunting rifle soon. It’s just not suited for match use but is great for a lot of other type of builds.
I’m curious what you are going to run instead?
I’m leaning heavily toward the Curtis Axiom or Vector. Everyone I have handled or shot felt great. Probably the fastest bolt out there. It will bind but I had to find the special spot vs actively putting pressure on the bolt so the Origin so it wouldn’t bind. The Axiom is now standard on all of MPA’s builds and the actions are getting a lot of prefit love like the BigHorns.
I dont know what your doing to your bolt but I have over 1000rds through mine and the bolt hasnt had a single issue binding.
i'm with padom. it's most likely just how you're running the boltIt might just be how I run the bolt but it was very noticeable at the last club match. Will also try adjusting the magazine depth.
I’m got giving up on it. Just my impression so far.
Give us the build details.View attachment 7080121
Finally got mine together and topped it with a Steiner. Probably the most accurate rifle I’ve ever owned. View attachment 7080127
Rounds 6-10
I finally built mine from the pre order..
Running three Xcaliber pre fits.
21" 224 valkryie 7 twist
19" 6.5 creedmoor 7 twist
17" 308win 8 twist
Bighorn 12pt barrel nut
Area 419 2P brake
TT Diamond flat
KRG W3 folder
Fedex lost my 6.5 creed barrel but I have the 224 valk barrel to shoot this weekend and a couple cases of 75gr AE which is all I plan to shoot out of the valk. So far they feed okay out of unmodified AI psr contract mags. Might change the bolt knob to get a little more room away from my scope but content otherwise.
Now all you need is a SA magnum caliber! I'm considering a similar barrel set up but a light weight hunting barrel in 7mm saum. Awesome gun, thanks for sharing!
I called TT and they said no timing needed, install and go. So that’s what I did and it works perfectlyMaybe I missed it somewhere, but is there any timing needed with a TT Special trigger or is it attach and go?
