Picked mine up yesterday. Keystone Accuracy spun up a barrel for it in 2 weeks. Very happy with it! Now just waiting on my Manners from this years group buy.

Took it out for some more testing. 42.0 gr H4350, shooting 140 ELD, only played with seating depths this time. 0.010 and 0.020 off the lands had 5 shot groups of about a third inch at those depths. Needless to say, I'm pretty happy. And no more light strikes either. Tempted to buy another Origin lol... Maybe they'll have a long action next...
Same here; 5 days from order till request for final payment Bighorn is really cranking them out. Now she's just waiting at the FFL till my time off aligns with normal business hours
Will you be offering Origin barreled actions with the shouldered Proof Research barrels? If not, do you know of anyone that will be?
We do not have plans for that at this time. We've got plenty on our plate logistically right now and adding barrels pulls in an entirely new set of variables that are better suited to be handled with your builder or barrel provider.

Proof offers prefit barrels for the tl3 and hunts long range is making a recoil lug that lets you use tl3 barrels. It's literally as easy as screwing in a light bulb.

PROOF is also making those pre-fit shouldered barrels for the Origin. Either way, the industry is supporting these products very well.
I haven’t found these available yet, although I’ve heard rumors... any bead on where we might be able to find these available to the consumer??
PROOF states in the comments of their release that in order to find them you'll need to contact the distributor you use. They've stated their in the middle of a website update so I'd imagine there's plenty of loose ends right now with information distribution.

Thanks, for what ever reason my tigger tech is very stiff on close. Guys I've gotta risk it for the biscuit!
Mine was like that, it would actually over cock like crazy and was almost as bad as a factory remington till I got everything worked out
Mine was about 100x worse. Much worse than any Remington I've ever felt, one step from needing a second hand Haha. But it didn't take long and is fairly smooth now. I might knock a little more off but it feels ok at .098.
I sent mine in to Bighorn and had them time mine. May have been 7 day turnaround, very easy process. It made a big difference-like shooting a different rifle. Love it!
Altus is doing origin shouldered prefits as well.

Firing pin fall is not dictated the same way on the Origin's. That surface should NEVER be adjusted on our actions.BAT MACHINE shows how to adjust firing pin fall - is the Origin function differently?
I noticed when you take the firing pin assembly out of the bolt - and tighten or loosen the firing pin; it will adjust that gap. What if anything does tightening and loosening the firing pin do? Thanks
Tightening the cocking piece won't affect much since there's not much more room to tighten from where it comes out of our facility. If you back the cocking piece out, it will rebound when it falls and, more than likely, present light strikes.
Great. Now I have a question that may or may not have been asked. Instead of me ordering an origin, receiving it at my FFL, then boxing it back up with a trigger to be timed and sending right back to you. How about I mail my trigger to you when I order the action and you time it then send it all to my FFL?
Yeah, that is a good way to do it but I ain't got my trigger yet and Bighorn ready to ship in under 30hrs. Ordered a Bighorn Origin( Std. Bolt head) yesterday at 11:00 am and Robbie emails at 4:00 pm today stating action is ready to ship.
How is that for quick??

I sent a Bartlein to PVA last June and haven't gotten anything back yet so I am out $360 with shipping - trying to avoid that again. Altus says 7-10 days of order so might try them if feedback is good.
I've heard similar things about PVA, I guess I lucked out or something. I know altus has a reputation for being top notch with their products.
I had a shouldered prefit spun up by Altus and cerakoted. It was about two and a half week turnaround. Order with confidence.

Just saw Keystone posted another barrel sale today on social media. 6.5mm barrels this time. Heck of a deal. I have one of these barrels in 6.5x47L and it shoots lights out with 130 and 140 Hybrids and 140 ELD.
Bartlein says A cut barrel even with a straight twist is more uniform and consistent than a button barrel.
I am just quoting. It says the bullet can speed up/slow down in a button barrel which can lead to consistency problems/fliers etc
Not true. A quality button barrel is just as accurate as a cut rifled barrel. They just dont last as long. A cut rifle barrel lasts longer before it craps out in my experience with button vs cut and Ive tested quite a few...
The word BUTTON is not a accurate way to compare. There are various different types of button barrels out there and each company has there own process, some better than others. Stress relieved, lapped, 4140, 416SS, .etc..

Same here, lousy timing, but if I held off then Keystone wouldn't have offered these. Always good to have a couple spares though
