ORIGIN Orders

Finally got my Origin all together and took it to the range this weekend. Pretty stoked how things turned out. Ran 60 rounds through it without a hiccup.

Anyone in the thread interested in a Area419 Bolt Knob group by? They currently do not thread for the Origin (1/4"-28) but willing to for minimum of 25 orders. I'm just gauging interest and will setup an official group by to the correct section if there is enough interest.

Would the extension needed be machined into the knob? Any ideas on price?

I could probably get down with one of these

Anyone run a Bravo Chassis with their Origin? If so, what are the positives and negatives? Also did KRG come out with a weight system for their chassis?

I do. All positives from my view. Not sure on the weights but I have added weight to mine with some cheap lead roundballs. Just stuff them in the buttstock and remove when needed.

I finally got my origin put together and shot it today. I'm loving this action it's smooth and feeds, extracts, and ejects great. The criterion barrel is everything I was expecting and then some.

Build list:
Gen 1 XLR envy chassis
Origin action
26 inch Criterion 6mm creedmoor MTU contour barrel
Timney Calvin elite 2 stage flat trigger
Bushnell HDMR 2 scope.

This didn’t get a lot of interest but it looks like Area419 still followed thru. Man they are a great company.

Got the bolt knob and adapter for Area 419 today. As with everything I've got from them the fit and finish is excellent. These make what is already a great action even better. I had the tactical knob, which is smooth, and this knob with the finger notch makes running the bolt quickly much more sure and consistent. It isn't any longer than the original so it doesn't stick out any further if that matters to you.

Has anyone had issues with light primer strikes? I went to the range this past weekend and had a lot of light strikes. Had the problem with factory and hand loads. I've never had an issue until this past weekend. Thought I'd ask here first before I email big horn.

What trigger? I would bet it is a trigger compatibility issue

First thing to check is that the cocking piece hasn't backed out on the threaded section of the firing pin. Is the firing pin indicator sticking out of the back of the shroud when the bolt is open and cocked over the trigger?

It’s barely sticking out. View attachment 7125909
It looks like it's starting to back out. Pull the firing pin out, then pull the two set screws (1/16" Allen head) out of the cocking piece. When you have that done, turn the cocking piece on the firing pin as if your tightening a nut on a bolt. Run it to the shoulder and back it off 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn. Replace the set screws when you've done that with a little bit of blue Loctite and you're back in business.

If you run into any issues, let us know. We'll be happy to help you out.

Thanks - Ray
