Paint it / don't paint it - no big deal. For those concerned about engraving depth - non issue.

Good luck

The cool thing is that I am color blind and will never know the difference.....

Good luck

Re: painting suppressors

VHT Flame Proof( put out by Duplicolor) paint comes in about 13 colors and can be purchased at any local NAPA store or automotive paint supply house. It's temp rated from 1300 to 2000 degrees F. and designed for exaust systems. It is a flat coating. It should be the best(cheap) way of getting your can canned! Let me know if you need a part number for a specific color. Also, they make a caliper paint that will withstand some heat, not sure how much though. I think 500 degrees F. It will be gloss if that is your thing. Hope this helps, Tommy

Why is the engraving depth a non issue? I asked the same thing over at SilencerTalk about a year ago regarding Cerakote over the markings of a pistol suppressor. Since it's more of a laser mark and not a true etch, I'm almost certain a properly applied layer of Cerakote would completely cover it.
The engraving on my YHM Phantom is plenty deep and cerakote didn't bother the legibility on that at all.

What say you?

Painted one of mine....a .22 rimfire.....with Alumahyde II. A year later it has flaked a little on the edges of the removable cap but has held up well. At some point I am goint to strip it and hit it with Duracoat.

Re: painting suppressors

Engine paint or exhaust paint works just fine. I also have used the high temp Duracoat and that holds up the best for me. I use the high temp duracote and then krylon the patterns on, if I want a change I just use laquer thinner to remove and re spray it.
