Parents in Tenn. forced to sign agreements saying they won't listen in to what their kids are being taught in virtual classes.

That's not necessarily a bad idea (in fact it's quite good), but these sort of problems are not created on a national level and thus are not fixed by voting the correct people into Congress and the White House. They are largely local problems, with some substantial influence at the state level. The problems get fixed at the local level - not by putting "Trump 2020” signs in the front yard and wearing a MAGA hat, but rather by doing the difficult work of figuring out what's happening in the classroom, and then applying pressure in the correct location (which is usually the school board).
My wife and I know what's going on at our sons' school because we are regularly in the classroom and because my wife designed a chunk of the curriculum (K-5 science). While not everyone can dedicate that sort of time, they could at least show up to the school board meetings on occasion. I do know from observation that the ratio of people bitching to people actually showing up to offer constructive criticism is, shall we say, somewhat large.
Is this the "new math" that Rush Limbaugh ranted about during the early Obama years, or the math that's actually taught in the classroom? Because I've seen the latter coming home with my sons, and I gotta say that it's pretty good. Many of the techniques being taught are how I've done things in my head for the last 30+ years. The Next Generation Sciences Standards (NGSS) are also vastly better than the standards used to teach when I was in school.
If there are problems in the classroom, it's due to issues at the local level, and apparently people just don't want to do the hard work in their own backyards and would rather rant about this-and-that at the national level.
Use their own bs line against them.

Id make sure to video tape every lesson and reviewed . your paying for there education and you own there buts till they are 18 or older while they live in your house . you created that life its yours lol enjoy ownership get involved its more deadly than any bomb or firearm , its going to be a teenager soon enough god help you .
This was shit my youngest brought home with him in '85, he was 8 y.o. Sat down with him, because, he was having problems, started to write out a division problem, used multiplication, addition, subtraction, as I had learned it, he then told me that the teacher didn't care if they got the correct answer, or not (huh?), but, was more concerned about how it was written in an equation and I was doing it wrong. I was lost after that. Up until then, I thought math was math. I had the basics and used them my entire life. That was the first time, in my life, I heard anything about "New Math". So, I guess I didn't know as much as I thought I knew, according to the teacher, anyways. Mac
