LRRPF52 - I don't mean to engage in personal attacks but your belief that Donald Trump is self-made is delusional. His father made the family fortune. He was a slum lord in Queens.
Trump inherited hundreds of millions of dollars from his father (and cheated his niece out of her inheritance along the way). He then made disastrous investments in casinos in Atlantic City and lost a large portion of this money. He emerged from this fiasco by declaring bankruptcy and stiffing hundreds of creditors.
Trump is notorious for not paying his bills and stiffing contractors, lawyers, basically anyone who does work for him.
His charity is under investigation for fraud.
Trump University turned out to be a huge scam that bilked thousands of dollars in tuition from innocent people and gave them virtually nothing in return. Trump agreed to pay $25 million to settle this suit.
Trump's golf courses have been a financial disaster and lose millions of dollars a year. In fact, the NYT did a thorough investigation of some of Trump's tax filings in the years before he was President and discovered that, instead of hosting a show called the Apprentice, Trump should star in a show called the Biggest Loser. For several of the years they investigated Trump reported bigger losses than any other tax payer in the U.S. That's right, he really was the biggest loser.
The Trump Organization itself has a relatively small number of employees. Most of the money the company makes is in licensing fees. So most of the foreign Trump hotels, apartment buildings, etc. are not owned by Trump and were not built/developed by Trump. Other companies simply pay him a licensing fee to use his name. Honestly, the only thing he has recently done that's made him a bunch of money is the Apprentice TV show. Of course, that's now largely dried up as a source of revenue.
The notion that Trump was a brilliant student is even more laughable. He paid someone to take his SAT's for him. His attorneys have written threatening letters to the University of Pennsylvania saying if they ever disclose his grades he will sue them. Quite frankly Penn. is embarrassed that he's an alumnus - and I speak from first hand knowledge as someone who also graduated from Penn.
Finally, and this is something I wish all you Trump lovers would think about, a big reason Trump is continuing to push these conspiracy theories about the election being stolen is because it helps him raise money. How much has he raised just since losing the election? I believe it's in excess of 200 million dollars. Did you ever ask yourself what happens to all that money if Trump decides not to run? My understanding is that he can simply pocket it.
But that's Trump in a nutshell - someone who claims to be a billionaire fleecing those people who support him to send in $25 or $50 of their hard earned money so that he can pocket it and support his lavish life style.
Did any of your sources for these claims come from the usual suspects who have major financial interests in the business that Trump has been undercutting with his policies? Because when I’ve researched these claims in the past, I get CNN, Bloomberg News, New York Times, and all the usual discredited companies.
One thing that you overlooked is Trump’s work ethic. He only sleeps maybe 4 hours a night on a slow week, has been that way all his life. People half his age have a hard time keeping up with him.
What you bear the burden of getting people to believe is that a guy who:
* Spent his college business school weekends working with his father in real estate
* Doesn’t sleep much
* Works very hard
* Is a global leader in branding, negotiating, and business
* Comes in under-budget and ahead-of-time on many of his construction projects
....Is a loser. I can see from a lot of your claims that you’re not familiar with business, make assumptions that any businessman would laugh at, and use common terms from the above disinformation presstitute brothels.
You also make it sound like private assets should be open for all to see by people who run a business.
Remember, there are hundreds of billions of dollars in the short term, and trillions in the long-term at stake just in the pharmaceutical sector, who are the main corporate sponsors of every single negative source you read about Trump.
Would you rather believe the people who have spoon-fed you lies for generations than an uncomfortable truth?
Anyone shaking and moving in the real estate industry at those levels is going to have lawsuits, all sorts of claims, failures, and successes if they don’t quit.
If you look at the apartment industry, owners and managers are always dealing with court from tenants who have claims.
Maybe you expect someone to have zero conflict along a career in the private sector dating back to the 1970s.
You also incorrectly described Fred Trump’s real estate as being a slumlord. He took a lot of pride in his constriction projects building quality in Manhattan.
New York City was seen as a slum in those days, and the Trumps turned that around by taking risks in the 1970s that a lot of people would not have done.
The quintessential do-nothing, never accomplished anything of merit envier, looks on to the man whose name is known by all, and talks about what a loser he is. It’s really a self-critique in the vacuum of personal achievement and the lack thereof.
