I followed the entire trial, watched/streamed 80% of it live. His appeals failed and he is currently sitting in the Clink. One dead, One in jail, and a mother with 4 kids and no father. Keep your heads out there people!I followed that incident and subsequent trial fairly close up until the day that he was convicted. The sheriff had it right the first time. It was definitely a case of self-defense/stand-your-ground.
The bitch in the car was had the personality of a water moccasin. His mistake was trying to reason with an unreasonable person. The boyfriend was a fight-first-ask-questions later asshole. I've ran into these types of people too many times.
These toxic idiots have no other excitement in their lives so they fill their day with arguments and fighting. I don't want to sound racist but the media, society and the government have taught them to be entitled jerks. When they are challenged and don't get their own way then the fight is on.
The first mistake that Drejka made was trying to reason with a bitch that is all mouth and no brains. All she is going to do is argue and call her boyfriend.
After the shooting the second mistake that Drejka made was "cooperating" with the police. He made the mistake of giving up his fifth amendment right.
The two lessons to be learned are never get into a situation by trying to reason with the unreasonable person. If he wanted to be a nice guy he should have just let her know that she was parked in a handicapped parking space. Then when she puts her fat ass into gear to argue then just walk away because it is not going to get better. Then don't give up your fifth amendment right. 99% of the time you will not be able to talk yourself out of getting arrested and/or charged with a crime.
I don't know if he has appealed or not. If he has appealed, I hope he wins.
This out to be a lesson for the type of hot-heads like Drejka shot. Regardless of whether Drejka was right or wrong, the hot-head is still dead. The same thing can happen to anyone else in a similar situation. Hot-heads beware.
Drejka could have walked. But at the same time there is a part of me that respects him for up holding decent values against obviously trashy people. The liberals in the county completely over looked that fact that he was physically attacked. Regardless of all the other details in the case, which I am aware of most, had Marquese not attacked him physically, he would be alive today. Talking to people is not illegal. Attacking them is.
