Big game according to the AZGFD. But yes, they are pretty small. About the biggest one I have seen was only 65# field dressed. Of course, Coues whitetail are not much bigger. Usually 100# or less field dressed.
My favorite for deer is the 6mm 107 cant find my pics they go in and don't come out and the deer don't move out of there tracks.
This thread needs some fresh blood! Here is a pronghorn my little brother shot last week, 175 smk at a hair past 300yds.
I have dozens others w/o pics and have stopped photographing wound channels. Hit em in the right spot and they just die. The bullets were SMK's. Berger OTM's, Scenars 300win, 300N, 338L

Yep, he is the youngest of three boys, turned out to be the biggest. Dad was right, he always used to tell us not to bother him, because some day he'd be big enough to beat up both of us.
Same buck, just a better pic the next day...this is his old man. He stayed totally nocturnal and his kid (the one above) was his lookout making the big dude unapproachable. Had 1 minute of legal light so I took the youngster. Maybe next year

How long is that bbl, what velocity are you getting with the 175's? Thanks
That is a 21" 10 twist, it runs just under 2700 with 175's. Its a killer.
No pic because it was 3am in the dark, but just hit a coyote at 447 yards this past Monday with a 77g TMK out of a Mk12Mod1, Ops Inc suppressor, NF 2.5-10x24 with PVS30 and PEQ15 set up.
Small, almost unnoticeable entry wound; 2 separate exit wounds with 1 coming out directly behind entry on other side, and the second above the rear leg at an angle. I'm going to guess the round hit bone at some point, shattered either part of the projectile and/or bone, and sent material to exit wound #2.

Forgot to post these two, one is a nice bull elk we got this year, he was taken with my SRS 7SAUM at 500 yards. I had loaded some of the new Sierra 183 Match kings, he was one and done.

What were you shooting? That’s about the biggest exit I’ve ever seen on a deer. How blood shot was the meat?
260 rem. 140 match burner. 200 yards looking at me. Went in right brisket area and out her right rib cage. All deer get field dressed and promptly to the butcher.
7RM pushing a 180 Berger Hybrid @ 2996fps. Shot was broadside, 662 yards. Elk went 50ish yards and piled up. Pass through with a $.25 exit wound, no bone, internals were liquid, chunks of lung Jell-o in the last 20 yards of blood trail.

My handy Blaser R8 300 win 21" barrel 7" TBAC Ultra 190 SMK @ 2850 fps. A few weeks ago Whitetail doe hunt was a fun stalk. Say her bed down, snuck through the cat tails (river bottom) she stood up @ 18 yards, quick high shoulder pass through shot, knocked the daylights out of her, DRT.
Bull last Saturday caught him in his afternoon bed in the shade of a deep drainage, 571 yards 11 degree downslope angle gusting 15 mph wind same rifle 300 win 190 SMK @ 2850. Again, "one and done" hit him 1" behind upper RF shoulder (steep angle) broke the offside elbow. He shuddered in his bed for a couple of seconds and simple rolled over towards me as pictured.
Found this partial against the opposite hide.
Heavy Grizz activity, so I don't open up the internals to examine damage, but this combo has been Very effective @ a variety of ranges on animals large and small.

175gr smk 308win. First goat was yesterday, 450yds with a 15mph full value wind.

I have some of the new Sierra 6.5mm 150 SMKs being delivered tomorrow for my 6.5 SS. I hope to work up a load and put some game down with them next year.
Couldn’t find the Muley I wanted, so went to the river a evenings ago and punched this WT @ less than 10 yards with my Blaser 300 win 190 SMK. Through and through of course...I hit him behind the RF quartering slightly knowing that I would only get one lung. He ran 15 yards and collapsed. Exit left side ribs the size of a golf ball. Love putting the sneak on WT’s.

And my Father used his 264WM to take this handsome little four point the same day, 140 grain Barnes Match Burner.
Deer was quartering away and the bullet entered his left side behind the shoulder. You can barely see the entry in the photo between the rifle stock and sling. Bullet exited and broke his shoulder on his right side. Left a golf-ball size exit wound.
He crashed about ten feet from where he was standing when I shot him.

260Rem 120 A-Max @ 30 yards. Shoulder shot. Zippered open very little penetration. Never tried again after this instance.
