Varget is my choice. I shoot an 85gr Sierra Spitzer with 38.1 grains Varget. My clean, cold bore shot is very nearly the same hole every time. My Rifle is a M77.
I like the 85gr bullet as my 6mm do everything round, Humming birds to Whitetails. 1 shot, 1 kill.

I would. You're limiting yourself with that 55gr head. 85gr bullets will bring a few more targets into the picture.

In the Nosler manual they have 53grs 760 as the most accurate powder and a velocity of 4077fps. 47grs of varget was also an accurate load @4002fps, Hodgdon has 46grs Varget and 4014fps for a max. I never even thought about using a bullet that light in my 6mm, 70 MK was pretty accurate though.

Yup, mine shoots nice groups with 45.5grs RE19 and the 95SST.

Re: powder for rem 6mm

After 1000 rds mostly mild 80 to 100 grn loads my 6MM still shoots good. I still have 100 rds loaded with 55 grn NBT with 51.0 grns of H-380. Now this was loaded in 1998 new brass the rifle was built by Harold Broughton. I know the 55 grn shot good back then LOL and i am going to try it to see what it does now.
