Powder IN-STOCK thread

still confused; after 5 fk'n years, there's still a shortage of primers.
Here Unicorn GM215s,, whistles, come here boy...
to keep thread on track, I see RAUG being offered for sale at some sites. 2500 primers for 189.00 vs CCI 500 are 95.00 dollars ish for a 1,000

I was in there to pick up a transfer and Shooters Warehouse ( a small shop in Cullman, Alabama) has a lot of different powders and some primers. I noticed Retumbo, H1000 and a VV powder I use. Almost all of it in 1 pound. Also had quite a few boxes of Hornady bullets. Prices were not any better. He said Hodgdon went way up on their prices. He couldn’t say why.

Also Simmon’s Sporting in Bessemer, Alabama. The didn’t have much powder and didn’t see any primers but lots of Hornady bullets.

It looks like a sellers market. All us stockpilers may be partly to blame. Back when powders and primers were plentiful if I worked up an accurate load or found a good buy I would stock up on those components for a couple of reasons.

My powder and primer orders from January finally came in through cabelas. They shipped them from a 2nd party warehouse on the east coast to their primary warehouse, then stuck it on the company truck that stops at the various cabelas on its way to the west coast. So if you do the ship to store option to avoid the hazmat charges, just be aware it could take 6-7weeks to get it.

Are you getting emails for that? Because they have a few things I'd buy.

Sometimes I get an email from them about the offers but not always. The free shipping/hazmat offer is usually on a banner at the top of their site, and they often run the offer Friday to Sunday.

However, to make things more confusing sometimes the free shipping and hazmat banner shows up only on the desktop version of the website but not on the mobile version of the website.

I got 5000 cci 400's and 2000 of the Winchester LRP at simmons a few weeks ago. I think I got the last of the cci they had and they said cci will only send them this ridiculously small amounts so they canceled their order of many millions of cci and are just going to carry Winchester..... They said Winchester sends them pallets pretty regular. You know they keep the primers over by the ammo down low nit by the powder. Might want to check back frequently if you need some and want Winchester.

Powder Valley just put their 8# jugs of RL16 on "sale" at $427, possibly because they could barely move 20 jugs in 2 weeks at the old price of $475.

They still have 262 jugs available.

Arm or Ally still has the better price on RL16 at $399.

As I mentioned about 2 weeks ago when it was still $475 for 8#, I think Alliant may have found the maximum price the current market will bear...

Yes. Alliant is smoking so much crack it is crazy.

I bought a lot of 2400 the other day because I wanted to get it before they jumped the price another 100 bucks in 6 months. It was barely tolerable at the current price.

H4350 and other Hodgdon powders currently going for $390 isn't much better, considering they were selling for $325ish less than a year ago.

Then again, in the same timeframe that Hodgdon went from $325 to $390 Alliant went from $330 to $475...

Hopefully Hodgdon doesn't get any stupid ideas.

Hogdon h4350

H4350 and varget in stock. Not $475 for 8lbs. But also not $390

liberaltears.com has Servicios Aventuras small pistol primers for $51 / 1000 and Ginex small rifle primers for$69.70 / 1000.

Anyone ever used these primers? Have ordered some ammo from Liberal Tears in the past and didn't have a problem.

I understand but when you google that you kinda get both. Of the two I've never seen anything but Midwest Powders listed on americanreloading.com, where as Grafs does carry tac and the other two.
He was probably referring to the equivalent of. If you look at the blue label of the midwest powder it says on the label " similar to X powder"

@padom has a lot more experience than I do with Midwest powders, but all of them have a “similar to” label on them. Probably all identical to what the label says, but they can’t claim that due to certain reasons.

I've used a LOT of these Midwest powders and they have all been right in line with the claimed similar to powder. I have zero complaints or any issues with any of them.

That's good to know. TAC used to be one of the easiest to find and now finding an 8lb jug is nearly impossible. I may give these Midwest a shot. Thanks

Looking back at targets, I had excellent 0.25" groups with the MW TAC powder and 77smk....

I have 16lb of this MW powder that a few people tested extensively and said it was amazing and right there with N140 and 8208. Gonna load some up and give it a test.

I've had lots of really great results with TAC using the 75gr and 77gr bullets, I'd love to have 16 or 24lbs of that MW tac for that price if it shoots as well as TAC does. The TAC does pretty well with the dillon powder bar in consistency with my testing. Out of 20 I threw and weighed on the AD120, ES was .1gr but most were well inside of that. The SD was like .08gr. On target they were all great
