Here she is with the shark suppressor, and Arken Optics EP4. She's a dream to shoot with the shark, but 6.5 PRC ammo is stupid expensive these days (avg $6/rd.)

New 700 action (never made into a rifle), RR prefix. PT&G .250” recoil lug, Timney Calvin Elite trigger set to 1.5 lbs. Krieger 26” stainless 1-10” twist Remington Varmint contour (Krieger makes these over sized), chambered with new PT&G .30-06 Serengeti reamer. It uses standard .30-06 reloading dies. 11 degree crown. McMillan M40/HTG stock with pillars by McMillan and black 1” Pachmayer Decelerator pad. Scope is a Leupold Mark AR 3-9x40 which is mil/mil. I changed the elevation turret knob to no bdc (the one that came on it is for M193 ball). The rail is an EGW heavy duty 20 moa. The rings are Weaver tactical 4 hole. The barreled action is ceracoated in Gunmetal black (H277). Looks like park, but it‘s not. The rifle weighs 9.4 lbs. empty.

Nice, I like those KRG chassis. I get that heavy rifles are good for recoil reduction and competition, but I really just want a light/mid-weight precision rifle that is easy to carry that I can hike around with and shoot, hunt with, etc and not be a burden. I’m thinking of doing one up with the A3-5 or Game Warden and target a 10-12 pound total weight. The A5 is just a fat range toy for me, I want something more mobile on my next go around.

Not even close. I know this is going to hurt feelings but it's just the unbiased truth. The Bat is by far the smoothest action I've found. It cycles like butter. Like its on ball bearings with almost no freeplay. With that said there's obviously a lot more to actions than feel. I've run it in several matches and countless range days and haven't had an issue. Not to say my TL3 is bad at all. But all things being equal in reliability the bat just brings a whole new feel to "custom"
I realize I am late to this thread but I am considering a BAT HR for a 300 PRC build. I agree there is a lot more than just feel to an action, but from a performance (interpret as accuracy and reliability) does it stand that far above other custom actions? Many thanks!

No any of the common customs are reliable and will be a solid base for a good barrel. Defiance, bighorn, stiller, lone peak, impact, etc. basically pick your favorite flavor with features you want and roll🤙🏼

Re did my hunting set up. Used to have a manners PRS1 with a 24” hawk hill barrel in 6.5prc. Weighed 14lbs without a suppressor.

New setup is an ag composites Visigoth, proof 22” carbon barrel in 6.5prc chambered by fritz ahlquist, Hawkins hunter dbm, and my omega 300 that’s out of jail finally. 10lbs even as it sits now

Bored so decided to go to my favorite local gun shop to see what they had, shelves were pretty bare, due to the times they are having a hard time getting any firearms.
I spied one lonely used rifle sitting in the rack, took a look at it and turned out to be a Remington 700 Police .308 26" barrel with a very nice Leupold VariXIII 6.5- 20 Long Range with simple mil dot reticle sitting on it and a Harris bipod, has parkerized finish and a HS Precision stock with the aluminum bedding block. Seemed to be a reasonable price considering the cost of the scope so whipped out the credit card.
Got it home and checked barrel codes and Leupold date codes, both the rifle and scope date from 2003.
Really was just looking for a cheap 700 to use the action for a custom build but looks like will need to see how this thing shoots first.

Great find! It probably has a low round count too. Not that .308 wears out barrels like the 6mm Creedmoor. Congrats!
