Precision Rifles.....show em!!

Not sure if this is the perfect forum to post a photo I came across. Ukraine military snipers.

It is my first muzzle brake, so take my thoughts for what they are worth.

I like it a lot.

The various YouTube videos explaining its design — wide so as to not throw up dust, straight ports to not concuss the shooter or drive the barrel down, are what really sold me. It is expensive, but I do not regret the purchase. It’s flatness made it very easy to time, and simple, as I dislike self-timing muzzle brakes.

Plus, it looks Barret-like cool.

:)

This is a 50 I built and regret selling. I’m building myself another one identical to it, which I’m excited about, so I felt like posting this beauty.

Returning back to the Hide after a long hiatus. Made some adjustments to the stable over the last year or so.

Rem 700 Tactical. 308, picked up up just like this without the Leup 4.5x14 LR.
20220928_161216.jpg

Current setup after adding the Bravo and PST 3x15. I need to get my NV Bridge and new rings/mount already so I can get back to night hunting.

Definitely not ultra precision out of this RSI, but it shoots where I want it to with 175 SMK. I don't particularly care to shoot it, but man I sure do love hunting with it.

Last up for bolts would be my Rem 700 BDL in 7mag. With the fixed 6x it will shoot 139 Gr. American Whitetail into 3/4".

Budget friendly-ish matching pair:
-T1x .22lr
-KRG Bravo
-Burris rings
-Area 419 30 MOA rail
-Vortex diamondback 6-24x50 FFP ebr2c moa reticle
-Elay trigger spring

-T3x CTR 6.5CM
-KRG Bravo
-Elay trigger spring
-scope and rings were moved to another rifle (on the hunt for another set that won’t break the bank but will get me back out there, any suggestions?)
-VG6 brake

Both on Caldwell bipods (well one is the other is setting on a cheap knock off but it works)

What clip-on do you plan on using with the 700? I too bought the bridge, but as of right now, it’s just an aesthetic touch. I looked at the PVS24 and PVS 30s and they’re around the same price, in favor of the 24 (along with being a pound lighter and higher FOM). but I’m a newb to NV.

I just have a CO-X MG from Armasight. Before that I had a PS28 WP from ATN.

The CO-X gets used 99% of the time on my AR because of ease in mounting. In the past I would have used a badger EFR or a coupler from scope to NV.

CO-X on Sig Cross 6.5.

Precision enough for me, for now...

- Howa 1500 in .308 Winchester
- MDT ACC Chassis
- MDT 20 MOA Picatinny Scope Base
- Leupold Mark 4 30mm Super High Aluminum Rings
- Meopta Optika6 3-18x50mm MRAD1 Reticle
- Magpul CTR Stock / Cheek Riser / HVAC Tape Tightened
- Urbanrifleman LLC Bag Rider
- 4AW Muzzle brake 3 port (5/8x24 thread)
- Colorado Precision Rifle Sling

100 yards, indoor, bench, MagTech 147 grain 7.62x51 FMJ, three shots.

I am satisfied.

And, despite the party line, Howa 1500 + MDT ACC + Magpul AICS = no issues.

The first rifle is my TS 300 prc and the group below it has been repeated the last 4 trips out. .1-.2 is the norm on this rifle. Most consistent and accurate one I’ve ever had. It’s Terminus Kratos lite, 22” proof sendero and a GW clymr stock with a jewel trigger.

The second rifle is a TS built 6.5 prc. It’s what I ran in nrl hunter. It pretty much shot everything I’ve run in it 1/2 min but really likes retumbo and Berger 140s. 26” bartlein carbon on a origin with an xlr element and bix trigger.
Nice rifles. I’m curious what bottom metal you used in the Clymr and how the fitment process was. Did it require any machining?

The stock was ordered with a hawkins oberndorf inlet but I had Travis open it up to fit the M5 oberndorf from hawkins, so yeah it took some inletting, he had to mill out some of the mini chassis as well.

FuhQ give me some info on them.
Top (my new toy): Christensen Arms Ridgeline FFT 20" 7mm-08 Rem, EGW HD 20MOA base, Arken EPL4 6-24x50 VHR MIL (temporary placeholder scope) in Arken HALO 30mm Low 0.82" rings. And my Dead Air Nomad-LT w/ Otter Creek Labs ZR0-DTA 5/8-24 DT mount & Rifles Only Gear/Dead Air HAD thermal wrap. Even setup like this, this gun is ridiculously lightweight...It feels like a toy.

Bottom: Christensen Arms Ridgeline 24" .280 Ackley Improved, Christensen Arms 20MOA base, Zeiss Conquest V4 6-24x50 ZMOA-1, in Seekins Precision 30mm Low 0.82" rings.

*** The 7mm-08 (top) will be getting the exact same Zeiss V4 scope setup as the rifle below it, i'm just waiting on it to show up in the mail. ***

Upgraded my PRS rig from a MPA BA Comp to a MPA Matrix Pro. It's a few pounds lighter and better balanced, even though I'll need a couple internal weights to get it balanced correctly. It won't need to get to 22 lb 4 oz to get properly balanced like with the BA Comp. Without mag and bipod its right at 18 lb 2.8 oz.

Bighorn (Zermatt) Origin
Bartlein 26 inch 1:7 5R heavy palma barrel chambered in 6mm Creedmoor by SPR
Triggertech Diamond flat, black trigger set at 8 oz
Vortex Razor HD Gen 2 4.5-27x56 mrad
MPA Matrix Pro in NRA blue
MPA BA scope mount 0 moa 1.125 high
American Precision Arms Little Bastard muzzle brake
MKM 34mm aluminum bubble level

And here I thought I was daring too be different….

Holy shit I was just lurching on the threads. A thought that popped in my head minus how poor I am going through these was, that there is just something about the looks of a stock that I love compared to a chassis system. Next thing you know I'm on the McMillan website, man those are sexy stocks for some reason I don't like the competition ones though they just look weird as shit to me plus the flamboyant colors not really my thing.
