Well, I guess I can dive in here and share... I apologize, I only have a camera on my iphone and I'm currently in my office, so the lighting is poor...

Remington 700 SA .243
shortened barrel to 20"
Rock Solid Stock with 9-13 bipod
SWFA SS 12X42 scope
AICS 10 rnd mag

Things I'd like to change.....
1. replace the medium rings with low rings
2. nicer quality AR grip
3. 6-9" bipod to replace the 9-13

Nothing fancy right now with the action as I'm waiting till I need to rebarrel to go all out and have it blueprinted.

Nice looking rifle... I feel exactly the same as you do about Accurate Ordnance, What a great bunch of folks! Would recommend AO to anyone looking for a custom and Mark and his team have been outstanding throughout the entire process, very lucky to have found them. They built my .300WM which shares the same chassis and Action that your build did.

My Rem-700P 338LM

This rifle has not been fully tested/tuned by me yet, but I am sure that it easily shoots better than I can. We had a sub 3" group at 560 yards, and I think a good part of that may have been me. Several sub 1/2 MOA groups at 300yds.IMG_0808.jpgIMG_0693.jpg

Remington 700P
34" Lilja Barrel
Factory HS Precision stock
NightForce 8-32x56 NXS Zero-Stop
JP Recoil Eliminator

New Build Started

Starting with a Savage 10 FCP McMillan 308. Factory barrel at this point. The scope is a Leupold Mark 4 8.5-25x50 ERT. Badger Ordnance 20 MOA base, and Badger Ordnance rings. Sinclair 3rd Gen F Class bipod.

A Bartlein 30" stainless, 1:10 twist, Whitley medium palma contour is ordered. It will be duracoated and glass bedded.

Just a little excited!

Need help with posting pics.

For the life of me,,,,, I can't figure out how to get me pictures to show full size in my post. All I can do is get the thumbnails attached. I read the instructions and it says to click the attachment icon,,,, I can't seem to find it. Some help on this would be appreciated.

Thanks

Gray, what made you choose the S&B PMII with locking turrets (in FDE) over the non-locking version which is a few hundred $$ less? Obviously, it wasn't color matching. ;-) And you can get the MSR in the "cheaper" version so it wasn't reticle choice either. So I'm curious if you just got a great deal or if locking turrets really add that much? Thanks. And nice stick by the way.

courtier: Sure the band works, especially in rapid fire strings that heat the barrel up fast combined with the cold weather we have now - the mirage over the barrel would otherwise be realy annoying.

Thanks, Lukas. If I ultimately go the AI route, I will have to keep that option in mind. Though now I'm wondering why other manufacturers don't offer a similar accessory option??

courtier: They are indeed. The one in my picture is actually made by Roedale, and is their 2" wide variant. I know SAKO has their own for TRG rifles ans SIG used to deliver one, too. In general - hard material is best, but worse at transport. Cordura with a bit of elastic works best for me. A band made entirely from elastic material is not that great, the heat passes through too easily. Hope this helps, L.

Is this picture from this Saturday? You did pretty well, considering the conditions. Nice stick, too.

I have the SAKO mirage band and it is OK, but Lukas is right, the heat passes through. Guy next to me this Saturday had a carbon-fiber band, a bit complicated for transport, but works very well.

The reason I got the tan S&B over the regular is because in February when I got this scope I called every S&B dealer there was and nobody had ANY SCOPES in any configuration, they were just out. Said it would be a few weeks to a few months before they got more. I needed one right then for this new rifle to shoot Bushnell Brawl 2 weeks away. Called up Europtics and bought the locking version since it was one of the two they had. I do like the MTC however, and I had the regular DT turrets before. Can be hard when trying to get to the first .1 mil after a "big click" at a whole mil, but still really like the scope. I've got plans for the stock so that it will better match the scope but it still looks really good in person.

here is a couple pics of mine, nothing special as its my first precision rifle. i have shot a sporterized 1903mk1 all my life, so i decided to pick up a rem 700 sps tac .308
the stock sucked donkey b@##s so it6 had to go. i picked up a B&C M40 style stock and did my own GAP camo job with the rattle cans. i plan on doing more as funds permit then when i burn the barrel out i want to have it rebarreled to 6.5 creedmoore.
but here she is
before the camo job

Starting reloading last summer and have been shooting:
