precision rifles... show em

Obviously nothing fancy, and the groups shown below are not spectacular, but the good thing is that this rifle shoots a 65gr Sierra GameKing load that was developed for my AR-15 solidly into 0.75-moa out to 600 yards. Thus, I can prepare the load in bulk and use in either rifle, whether for hunting or for informal practice.

8 shots from 200 yards:

5 shots from 600 yards:

not sure actually... it was a gift years ago.... it has "PWS-P" stamped on the barrel... i'm told that stamp stands for Precision Weapons Shop... i'm going to sell this weapon too, as it has never been fired and sitting in my safe for years.. anyone interested can PM me or email me at [email protected]....

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics

my rifle

Here's my Defiant action, KMW stocked, Proof 300wm barreled machine. 29" 1/17 twist shooting short 171 gr tungsten cored bullets at 3450f/s. Pretty much a laser. Using an older Premier scope with H37 reticle...I never turn a turret only hold a little bit.

R/Mark

This is my newest build and my first post. I have been using this site for years and am grateful for all of your guys knowledge. I hope I can add in some way. About the rig, the barreled action was done by Ed Sweet out of Idaho and I worked it over to my specs. Branden did the paint of course and I just added the bushy and the Larue a few days ago. This was my first time using a Sako action but so far it has been running great. Chambered in 7 Mag running 180gr HVLD's and 180 Hybrid's

Below is the target from when i got it out to zero, shot at 50 yards off of a backpack backpack. If thats not precision rifle than i dont know what is

This has got to win the "Operator as Fuck" award!

What color stain did you use? This is gorgeous!

Thanks. It was a very simple refinish that I've used numerous times. The older the wood, the better the results.

As previously mentioned, I removed the original finish (using a chemical stripper), then lightly sanded the wood.

Fairtrimmer's Military Ox was used first, followed by Tom's 1/3 Mix (wax).

The results are a very natural subdued oil finish, similar to older wood military stocks.

Built this rifle about 7 mos ago and have had it out to 980yds so far. I can hit my 13" gong at 800 yds with boring consistency. This rifle will shoot 1/4 MOA @ 200 yds all day long and for everything I've read about Mausers ( especially one in this previous condition) that is "impossible". I built this gun in part to disprove the naysayers, even a friend who is a gunsmith and who is now building 2 6.5-284 rifles on Mauser actions. I have got about $2k in this rifle, $850 of which are the scope.
I currently have a Sightron SIII 8-32x56 LRMOA scope on it and have since made the cheek rest adjustable.
