precision rifles... show em

Practicing shooting of a pack at 200 today.

I just finally got around to getting the proper scope on this one. 6MMBR with a Bartlein barrel, trued 700,new recoil lug, HS stock, Vortex Razor and rings. I coated the metal with gunkote a custom mix of black and titanium and the stock in durakote.

Nice 6BR - what trigger, contour/twist/length, and who did flute? Also, does it feed, if so, what lower metal and work done? Range results yet?

Thanks for posting - should be a nice shooter.

Did the work with buddy. Its a varmint contour 1/8 I'm shooting 105's. Jewell trigger and Kampfield customs did the bolt work. As far as feeding I need to do a little more work. I used a 308 follower and cut it down for the smaller box. This weekend I'll try it again. My buddies feeds awesome so I just need to tweak mine a little. Love this rifle. Factory bottom metal a combo of 308 and 223 magazine parts are used.

Unfortunately, I have no way to prove and you have no way to disprove, so you either take it at my word or you don't. The decision is yours….

I think he was joking (smile at the end). On a serious note, great looking stick! What Mirage cover is that? Also what is the length of the cover? Looks really clean. I'm about to get my 30p-1 and need to grab one.

Thanks

Steve

Just finished my poor mans Lapua. Savage 110 338RUM build. She did great at the 600yd match at UNSC last Sunday. The writing on the target is wrong. Its actually a bit bigger group at 3.92" group(not 3.7"). This barrel really likes the 250 OTM's. Can't wait to get it out to 1000+. Looks like Yakima is in my travel plans this spring. :)

You ever go up North to Rayners and shoot? We got a few people from down South Eastern KY that go to a lot of the monthly matches and the sniper matches they host.

I have shot a few matches at both Rayners and TVP over the last few years. With my wife back at work, it has been trickier to get up north as I have the kids on the weekend.

My shooting partner and I are running identical loads currently and will try to make some of the matches this Spring.

Last week I took it out for the very first time since I got it in January and sent 10 shots down at 100yds and avg 2752fps on a Chrony. It was getting dark so I quickly ran back to the 400yd marker and plugged in some data on Strelok, made the scope adjustment and sent 5 shots into the steel plate target I made up this winter. The first 3 shots are the ones that are overlapping. The 4th and 5th shot are the ones that are a little "out there".......probably because I was so giddy from hitting the target with what I would consider for me a bad ass group right out of the gate. These were hand loads I did as well.....91gr H1000, Lapua brass, case length 2.710", overall length 3.680", F215 primers and 300gr SMKs.

Nice StormHorny, sweet group right off! Those SMK's and H1000 sure do match up good. Nice shooting.

Thanks 88Blazer! It's all still a very loose learning curve for me on both the reloading end and shooting end, but there are a plethora of threads and info from a ton of guys in here that I can't thank enough for the priceless info they give.

here's my addition, took a while to accumulate all the parts as this is a super rare long range build using only the best components. this is a bad mother fucker and I'm quite proud of it. Below is the target from when i got it out to zero, shot at 50 yards off of a backpack backpack. If thats not precision rifle than i dont know what is

Sweet! That's a definitely a quality build, awesome 48 shot group too. Not many people can fire that many rounds into a target and completely miss the orange circle in the upper right, great display of skill and craftsmanship. Maybe shouldn't have been posted in the precision rifle forum though, it should be in the super-mega-awesome rifle forum.

God Damn it! We only recognize 5 shot groups round here!

Any trades?

How about this for a trade? Ain't no TR, but she'll group like hell baby!

As nice as this might be, I don't think It will compare to a TR trade. Those rifles are getting 8" groups at 1000. And that was with the builder shooting offhand. All I know is I would respectfully decline a trade with your silly little dewalt-powered playtoy. Don't you know they are owned by black & decker? TR is unmatched. Just read the article on GA....

This is my savage flcp-k, It took more than a year to get here to Ireland a major pain in the arse.
I will be customizing it over the coming months but this is what i am shooting. It is a tack driver and I was amazed at how little recoil there is in comparison to some of my other firearms. :)

In progress, this gun has been in and out of service for a couple of years but I am just now getting it the way I want it. It may not be a TR rifle but I think it will do me well until I can get the pennies together for a GAP.

Just a Rem 700 AAC 308. Barrel, Action and bottom metal cerakoted in Desert Verde and Manners T6A. Will be adding a Bushnell 3-21x50 TRMR2 soon.

maybe someday i'll take a better picture.

I have gone from a Winchester M70 .308 Win w McM A5 to a Accuracy International AW 7.62 NATO (later .260 Rem) and now to a Tikka T3 Varmint 6.5x55 in a McM A5. ( sold the AIAW because a snowmobile buy :) )
Anyway, here is the Tikka now.

That's probably the first time I've seen a T3 in a McMillan stock. It looks great!

I don't remember the Butler Creek sizes, off hand. Here are the dimensions you need for ordering them. Not too impressed with the quality though. The front flip cover snapped off at the hinge after a short while. Don't remember subjecting it to any rough use.
