So to make my first post on the Hide, i figured a range report would be fitting. I went out this morning to our only local rifle range, and planned on re-zeroing my scope due to a new 20 MOA base and to shoot my neglected AR15.
I recently purchased a PredatAR in 308 from LaRue. I have a range report of it over on Arfcom. But just for a reference he she is in her current state.
LaRue PredatAR 308 18"
Leupold 4.5-14X50 in a LaRue LT-112 Mount
Ergo Tactical Deluxe AR10 grip
Magpul CTR with RISR and extended butt pad.
Harris bipod in LaRue mount
I also recently purchased a 1000 rds of Prvi Partisan 145gr M80, which you can see on the left.
The range was fairly busy when I showed up and proceeded to bore sight at 25 yds. I then moved out to 100 yds and worked on fine tuning the zero. To make a long story short, I was trying to work on the fundementals I've read about on here and it took most of my ammo to become comfortable shooting. I shot some at 100 and moved out to 200 and then back to 100. When I returned to 100 yds I started to find a comfortable spot behind the rifle and proceeded to print two MOA groups with military ball ammo. Grids are 1".
You can see the flier in the above group.
All the other groups of the day ranged from 2 MOA to around 3MOA. I am actually quite pleased with the performance of this rifle with surplus ball ammo. I should be receiving 1000 rds of Southwest 175gr soon and plan to do another range report and go out to 500 yds.
