I have a PM on my gun currently and am thinking of getting a K525i. What is the difference like in quality both glass and features between these two scopes? I don't have an easy way to put these two side by side to see for myself

I know that PM doesn't exist and Tangent may not support the PM for warranty stuff (I believe that is the case)

If I decided to sell my PM (its in extremely good condition) what do you think it would sell for?

Ugh, this is not exactly an apples to apples comparison.

It’s been a while since I looked through a premier, but I believe the glass is going to be a bit better.

Turrets are going to be different obviously. The k525i windage turret is pretty meh, but it’s designed to basically not be touched once zero’d, so it makes sense.

Kahles elevation turret is pretty awesome overall. It’s not tangent good, but it’s really nice.

The ambidextrous parallax is awesome on the kahles, very convenient. Having the option of lsw or rsw is nice. Though if you get a good deal, doesn’t matter which side it’s on.

I’d base my decision on the reticle. Skmr and skmr3 have just about the perfect windage marks for my eyes. It’s an extremely nice reticle with what you need to make hits and nothing you don’t need.

If it were me, I’d go k525i over premier for the entire package the kahles offers. It’s really a badass optic in all areas, not the best in any single category (except ergonomics), but not far behind in all of them, so it scores very high as an orverall package.

If it were between k525i and TT, that would be a tougher call. I like the skmr better than the gen2xr.

It's hard to say for certain what your Premier 5-25x56 would go for, if it's the Gen 2 XR I'd say you should be able to get between $1900 - $2200 and maybe a little more depending on who's interested and the overall condition. These are still highly sought after scopes so if you're not in a hurry, list it with the higher value and slowly move it down if you don't get any interest. Doing a quick search, the last 5-25x56 with Gen 2 XR was listed at $2400; however, that is not an indication of what it actually sold for, just what they were asking before it sold.

I'd caution stepping away from a premier to get into the K525i... the FOV and eyebox on the Kahles wasn't as accommodating as the premier and IMO the only trailing feature of the premier was the gen2xr to the skmr3. This is coming from a guy who prefers the K624i to the k525i. I greatly lean on the 624 FOV.... but new sells.

I have a premier 3-15 tactical mil dot reticle and I had a kahles 318i. I also now have a TT525P gen2xr, and if you can live with the reticle the premier will still be better than the kahles IMO. Email TT with your premier serial number and ask if yours is covered by their warranty. My Premier is. That would help resale a lot.

FOV isn’t great in the new k series. I own a 318 and a 525.

It’s not great compared to other optics in the same tier, but it doesn’t make a huge difference once you get used to it. Zero issues finding targets.

Eyebox seems to vary from person to person. On guy says the eyebox on an optic is great, another says it’s not.

Check out all the minox review. Some say great eyebox and others say it’s tight.

I’ve found that eyebox doesn’t matter much as long as you get behind the rifle properly. Even in awkward props. Haven’t found an optic yet that eyebox was a deal breaker.

I looked through the scope (3-15) and realized it’s also a Gen II. How do I tell if it’s an LT?

I think the LT is a 30mm with less elevation on the turret and it's lighter. I'm looking for one of those for a hunting rifle if you want to sell. I have a TT 315M and really like it.

I have a Premier Heritage 5-25×56 w. Gen 2XR and a Kahles K624i Gen 3 SKMR. My opinion is as follows.

Comparison below:

Illumination-Kahles
Eye relief-Premier
Eye Box-Premier
