With everything going on in the gulf area and changing over to winter fuel, what do you think this is going to do to gas prices. I know lumber went up with the forecast of hurricane Ian.
Good question.... There are two opposing forces. The "so called" shortages in the energy sector (oil, natural gas, fuel oil, LNG, etc) on one side and the worsening of the recession (higher interest rates, shortages, onset of winter, etc)...
Without some big changes, fuel (gas and diesel) will remain in the same range we have seen over the past couple of months.
The working middle class will suffer..... worldwide

Just to amuse you, the regular 95 octane, 10% ethanol, in Finland was at its highest $11.5 a gallon.

The regular price precovid used to be 7.0 and it is now 8.9.

But we do not have any domestic oil production, just refining.

Prices near me in So Cal have gone up almost a dollar in two weeks. The blame is "Refinery maintenance on the west coast" but somehow the prices started going up before the maintenance excuse was put out there. Magically every refinery is doing maintenance at the same time and there are shortages...

$5.99 87 octane at the cheaper place by my house. Most are well above $6 and approaching $7.

Clown Show:
The Department of Energy will release 10 million barrels from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve next month, the White House said, and Biden will direct releases of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve “as appropriate to protect American consumers and promote energy security.”

“The President is also calling on U.S. energy companies to keep bringing pump prices down by closing the historically large gap between wholesale and retail gas prices — so that American consumers are paying less at the pump,” Sullivan and Deese said.

pure shit show from now till elections... chickens will come home to roost after the elections.
the 'vote' hasn't been fixed yet; nancy isn't worried - be scared

Maybe if they put both Venezuela and Iran on line they would only need to drain half of the SPR

In any case pellets of cash are being prepared
''Officials have reportedly also worked out a deal that would free up hundreds of millions of dollars in Venezuelan state funds frozen in American banks to pay for imports of food, medicine and equipment for the country’s battered electricity grid and municipal water systems.''
