So, let me get this right. We are told to use less gas & as a reward for doing so we get an added tax Increase. Only logical to a liberal.

True.
Down size to a smaller home / property and the county assessor will up the value so you are paying more for your "new to me" place than the larger, old place you left behind.

Saudi Arabia on Tuesday extended its 1-million-barrels-per-day voluntary crude oil production cut until the end of the year, according to the state-owned Saudi Press Agency.
The reduction will put Saudi crude output near 9 million barrels per day over October, November and December and will be reviewed on a monthly basis.

U.S. gasoline prices have declined slightly from their recent year-to-date high but remain at their highest summertime levels in over a decade even as the summer driving season comes to an end. National average gas prices in the United States currently stand at $3.803 per gallon, down from $3.829 a month ago but higher than $3.764 a year ago.

PNW yesterday filled at $4.75 for 87.

I wonder what the petro companies profits are looking like these days…. I bet they’re pretty good.
They have done well during the years after the pandemic.
Like other large, worldwide companies, the plan is to sell less and charge more... Same with food, electricity, auto insurance to name a few.

Marathon Petroleum shut the gasoline-making unit of its huge Galveston Bay refinery in Texas, the fourth-largest in the U.S. by capacity, after a fire broke out on Thursday night, sources with knowledge of the situation told Reuters.
Marathon Petroleum’s Galveston Bay refinery in Texas City, Texas, has a total crude processing capacity of 593,000 barrels per calendar day (bpcd). The refinery can process a wide variety of crude oils into gasoline, distillates, natural gas liquids and petrochemicals, heavy fuel oil, and propane.
The fire broke out in the fluidic catalytic cracker (FCC) which produces gasoline and has a capacity of 140,000 bpd. The fire erupted in the regenerator of the FCC, Reuters’ sources said, adding that there were no injuries reported after the incident.

OPEC leaves 2023, 2024 global oil demand forecasts unchanged
Oil futures climbed Tuesday, with expectations that output cuts by major producers will lead to a global crude supply shortfall in the fourth quarter prompting prices for the commodity to settle fresh highs for the year.
Traders also awaited further hints on the outlook for global energy demand, with a reading on U.S. inflation and a European central bank decision on interest rates due out this week.

Blame it on the refineries... LOL... I blame it on Biden for shutting down exploration and production.... JMHO

Retail gasoline prices in the United States are continuing to rise, and are up 4.6 cents from a week ago, according to GasBuddy data.
The national average is still down 1 cent from a month ago, but nearly 20 cents higher from this point last year. The national average for a gallon of gasoline is $3.83 per gallon as of Sunday, GasBuddy data shows.
The reason behind the rise is refinery outages in the western United States, but relief may soon be coming for some.
“With the transition back to cheaper winter gasoline now upon us in nearly every state, we should see prices eventually cooling back off. But if refinery issues continue to develop or linger, especially now that we’re entering maintenance season with less available capacity online, the expected decline could certainly be offset. In addition, with oil prices now above $91 for the first time in nearly a year, there remains some offset from the rising price of oil thanks to Saudi Arabia and Russia’s war on low oil prices, now in its third month,” Patrick De Haan, the head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy said in a blog post on Monday.

good news, due to more EV's not paying for roads, the Gov will use this excuse to raise fuel taxes and start their endgame.
The endgame is to charge all vehicles a XX price per mile. It will be high enough that only Billionaires and Politicians can use the road. Then, Politicians will give themselves a law that says they don't have to pay.
Good times Comrade.

History repeating itself:

Illness and malnutrition were constant afflictions for medieval peasants. Average life expectancy was about 35 years. And during that short lifetime, most peasants never traveled more than 25 miles from their homes.

Gas here in eastern Washington is around $4.79 regular 87 octane and diesel is $5.39, filled up my diesel truck a week and a half ago and is was $166.00! that was before fuel went up another dime. the tax on all fuel in Wa. is just stupid, with governor inslee's carbon tax it's like the energizer bunny it just keeps going and going and going up, up, up.

We are witnessing the "Perfect Storm"
Fuel shortage / price increases / lack of a Commander in Chief
No backup plan in place.

The Maverik off Exit 1 is the top selling location out of 400 Maverik statiotns, because of Washingtonians crossing the border. That’s what the store manager told me a couple weeks ago, anyway.
That manager has got to be loving it all us poor Wa. residents that have not got the hell out of this shithole of a state yet. At least I'm close enough I can drive over and get it most residents are not.

I left. Not going to raise a family in WA. Ethanol free 91 octane is 40 cents cheaper in Idaho than regular 10% ethanol 87 octane 5 minutes away in Washington. It’s theft through taxation.
