Re: problems with bran new ruger MKIII 22/45

Since it's brand new, contact Ruger for a return authorization. My MKIII 22/45 worked OK as is, but I ended up replacing most of the lock work with Volquartsen parts and MKII parts and instruction from this post, http://www.guntalk-online.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=387 to remove the magazine disconnect feature. I ended up with a very light and crisp trigger pull with minimal reset. If you were planning on going this route from the beginning, you'll probably end up replacing whatever's defective if you handgun. The downside is that once you modify the lockwork and remove that safety feature, you become responsible for any negligent discharges that firearm has.

The owner needs to ALWAYS be responsible about anything firearm related. Its not the manufacturers job to build things idiot proof. Although they sure as hell tried with the 22/45.
