If the paperwork is still in the approval process I was under the impression it was fine to still be building or modifying so long as the end product matched the specs that were submitted? After all; it’s still just a solvent trap at this point until the tax stamp is received and the holes are actually drill. I could be wrong but that is why I’m asking.

Those of you asking about Titanium for the 5.56/30 traps, I was told today they have sourced a supplier for Ti tubes, etc. but no timeframes to provide you guys yet. They are listening and working to give the masses what they want!
Stay tuned for the next review in the next few weeks. They just shipped me a 9mm/45 Ti kit with booster and pistons for my 9mm PCC, 45 PCC, and 9 and 45 pistols, and drill fixture so I will be doing a review on all these different firearms. Will be incorporating side by side comparisons with my Rugged Obsidian 45 so there is a direct comparison in the review.
Also purchased a new Canon Professional quality sound external microphone with Shotgun and Shotgun + surround modes so the audio should be better than the last review! Stay tuned!

Their guide is awesome. That'll really help them sell more, now that people can see how to walk through it. There are some good youtube videos online, but some are for SBR's, some are for trusts only, etc..
I started drilling baffles last night and wanted to point something out as an FYI. Using the drill fixture these are not 100% idiot proof. Apparently it depends on how big of an idiot you are being at that moment in time. The middle baffle is my second attempt. I guess I will put it back in the fixture and drill it again because it doesn’t line up with the others.

No way that's even possible if you had it inserted properly and the lid on properly. Did you watch the drill fixture video?
I watched the video. I’m not saying the fixture is bad or wrong, just that if you don’t pay attention you can mess them up. Just a word of caution to others to pay more attention to what you’re doing than I did.
Im not sure on that. The first and the third are fine and the second is not. The only thing that I can think is that the baffle wasn’t fully seated in the drill fixture before I tightened the retaining bolt. I’m drilling more today so I’ll go slow and see if I can figure out where my error occurred.
Edit: just went out and played with the fixture a little bit. If you do not fully seat the baffle and tighten it is possible to tilt the baffle and not drill squarely. Once again, this is NOT an issue with the fixture. I think that I didn’t tighten the baffle before I moved on to the top piece. I drilled another baffle after taking my time and it came out perfectly.

Moral of the story;
Like anything machining, take your time and pay attention. Any distractions and you risk messing up a part that could screw a whole project.
If you can get that messed up one opened up concentric, just use it as your blast baffle maybe

Gauging interest here. A bunch of you have asked for Ti parts. Particularly end caps and cups.
How many of you would buy Ti cups @ say $35-$40ea to fit your QuietBore tubes? The only online retailer I see selling the Ti cups that dont fit the QB tubes is $44.95ea.. Also threaded end caps.
I may be able to make this happen, gauging interest. Possibly even a pre-order of Ti threaded end caps and cups for 45 and 5.56/30 QB tubes....

I would be interested in titanium threaded assembly and caps to lighten these up. Biggest thing that has held me back from the .556/.308 is the weight issue. If they can shave the weight with entrance and end caps in titanium and perhaps mill a little off the steel baffles like you did Padom then the weight issue would be much more manageable.
So random on the timing. I sent my prints in late.... like they got them on the tenth business day.
If we can get the price closer to $35 then I would be interested in three different sizes. 1/2-28, 5/8-24 and 3/4-24
The $35-$40 estimated price is for cups. Not end caps. Not sure price on end caps yet....
I priced out a titanium build from that other supplier at it was around $600. A little rich for my blood. If we could get that number closer to $400 I'm game for one.

I think some of you are missing what I'm asking. This has nothing to do with QB, full kits, etc.
I may be able to have a run made of Ti end caps and cups. Lots of guys have been asking for those parts in Ti. Those of you looking for full Ti kits will have to source them on your own.

Most definitely interested . If you change-out 'both end caps' to Ti. on the 223/308 Can . I think it will be pretty close to knock-off about 3 ounce weight .
If I could have my way . ( except for the 1st or 2nd Stainless Baffles ) , I would be real weight saver to run Ti. baffles (or aluminum ) on top them and out to the muzzle cap .

This should all be no problem.. at this time, you will be able to order as many Ti cups as you want for the 45cal and the 5.56/.308 tubes and you will be able to order entrance and exit caps in Ti for both.
Well we have a good amount of interest. Supplier is on board. Meeting with them on Monday. This should be a go. Once I meet with them I'll start pre-orders.
I have a bigass grin on my face that won’t go way. Drilled the QB 9mm baffles and end cap today and hit the range. Very happy with the results as it was super surprisingly quite to my ear. Now keep in mind I have never shot a suppressor ever. Its eye opening to me on how quite it was and I couldn't stop feeding rounds through the Glock and the 16” 9mm rifle. This was the first time I have ever heard the sonic crack of a bullet. When I switched to subsonic rounds in the 16” barrel it was very hard to judge if it was any louder than just the action cycling.

After the form one is submitted all I need to send is the paper with the barcode and two fingerprint copies correct?
I didnt buy one after seeing the weight of it... but Im really glad I didnt now if they dont include a jig for it.
Simple cone is easy to clamp in a vise and drill from the back side. I wouldn’t think you’d need a jig for that one
Some of us are the people they test "fool-proof" stuff on. And, when I comes to things screwed onto the end of a firearm, I prefer not to be the test fool...
