Man I gotta say some of the story's on this thread are making me really grateful for my fiancee... as long as I am responsible and dont cut into say a vacation fund or something for the family i can buy whatever I want and in return I respect her wishes about where I can xxx... relationships in this society are in the gutter because everyone is an entitled ass who has lost the ability to compromise and dont respect eachother anymore.

The operative word in your post is "fiancee". Expect her to be OK with about 60% (of what she is ok with now) on the day after you get married. Now, whether 60% is good or not depends on what you start with. Choose wisely.
This is true. Well, this is true if they do not work and if they do not bring in close to the same money as you do if they do work. It’s sad how the courts allow the lazy to prey upon the productive. That’s why I tell every single guy that’s looking to get married they need to only consider women with a similar income earning potential or a iron clad pre-nump. Otherwise, it often becomes too tempting for them when they find out how much they can rape you for. I’ve personally seen it happen to many times to to many nice guys. When women go over the edge, they typically don’t just stick a toe over to test the water; they go all Thelma and Louise and go all the way.
My advice, if you are hiding stuff because you think your woman will get pissed and it could lead to divorce, do yourself a favor and “press to test” now and find out, because you are not saving yourself from anything that won’t happen down the road. Might as well get it over with now and get on with life.
Life is a journey and it’s a heck of a lot more enjoyable with a wonderful companion who wants to journey with you. If you and your wife have lost that desire and are on separate journeys, then you owe it to yourself and her as alpha to honestly attempt to get on the same path without loosing yourself or her loosing herself. If you should find that’s not possible, well cut your losses and move on cauzzz if you are the bread winner, the law is not on your side even if she goes rouge. People don’t typically change, they are who they are. Holding out for a major change with a relationally difficult wife is a fools errand.

The wife and myself both work and we always include each other in all “major” purchases. She has never said a word to me and I have never said anything to her about spending. We can do this, because I set a firm baseline when we married for our financials and as long as we don’t become excessive everything is cool. Saying this, all final decisions are mine period, but she is my wife and I want to include her on everything. It would be stupid to try to subvert her or not include her. The I do what I want attitude is stupid and gets you no in a marriage. Hell most of the time my purchases such as binos, guns, reloading equip is pushed by her.
General Observations:
1. If you run around calling yourself an alpha male, you aren’t one.
2. If you can’t trust and be 100% open with the one you married, then why are you married to them?
3. Marry your best friend and you’ll be ahead of the rest.
4. If you have to sneak guns into the house and can’t look the one you married in the eye and tell them what you’ve done, you’re a fucking coward and your marriage is a dumpster fire. By doing so you are saying that you married an idiot that you don’t respect.
5. If you refer to your wife as a bitch or use her as an excuse to back out of things even though it’s your own decision, you’re the bitch.
6. If you’re on your 3rd marriage and think “all women are crazy”, maybe the problem can be found by looking in the mirror.
7. The whole “my grandfather ran the house and his wife” is toxic and from an era when women were openly treated like shit and viewed more as property than a partner. If you think those were the good ol days and how it needs to be, you’re the problem, not society.

Does it count as a sneaking in guns if you waltz in by your wife with a box that says ashbury precision ordnance shaped like a rifle she asks what is that another gun? I said sarcastically no. I can’t think of a time I’ve been penalized by society nor can I recall a time that society has made anything stressful for me...unless you’re talking about shitty drivers lol. Sure, that’s not a meaningful sample size to make a blanket statement, but I’m willing to bet if each American male was objective with their response and media influence wasn’t a factor, you’d probably be hard pressed to find any meaningful national numbers that support what social media states.

I'd bet that most of these guys are really just kidding. I've been married 61 years (yes, sixty-one) and have never had to hide a purchase from my wife. But that has never stopped me from joking about different ways to sneak a new gun in the house. I'm kidding, and my buds know I'm kidding, just as I don't take them seriously when they do the same.

Several years ago before Her Ladyship left and I found out what it was like to be free again I had to sell some of my prized shooting irons.
I was practically in tears, walking out the door, to sell one of my cherished rifles to make ends meet each month. She had as much sympathy as a komodo dragon eating a baby chick.
She never bothered to sell any of the jewelry that I gave her. Not only that I found out that the Ice Queen was saving the money I gave her each month to divorce me. She was driving the car that I was making payments on to go get laid as well.
Life has a way of catching up to people like that. She's over the hill now and fat. She reminds me of the komodo dragon she emulated so much. She's bankrupt and can't pay her bills. She's aged so much that her face looks like hammered lead.
What surprises me is how fast she can go on her broom despite the extra weight she's carrying.
Me: I never knew what freedom was like till she left. I sleep like a baby at night. When I get up early, I'm rested, refreshed and thankful for my life.
I turn on all the lights in the morning and don't have to worry about being quiet and enjoy the coffee as I read the postings on SH then off to work or play with my guns!

She brought home, or I had to go pick it up, what she dubbed an antique side table. A fucking pile of shit with a 4" thick old cutting board, supposedly 19th century, a moRon can plainly see the accompanying stand not 1800's, so I had to ask, how much, 400.
Fast forward 6-7 yrs and it surfaces the bill was 1400 bucks, the fucking piece of shit pissed me off at 400. Now the POS holds rocks, fancy rocks, some more money than glock pistols. I refuse to even look at that side of the room and hope she piles enough rocks on it that it collapses some day. Then my expertise can enter with, "no way can we redo the bottom stand" and take a chainsaw to it.

I just rolled over the 30 yr mark myself (marriage not age) and we wouldn't have lasted 30 days had our relationship had been like that you describe about your gelded friends.

I obviously don’t wish divorce or hardship on anyone, but I’m not going to sympathize with people who make irrational decisions and get surprised by the end result. I grew up seeing the men in my family go through nasty divorces and the same for a lot of the dudes I was in with. Like lose literally everything nasty. Wouldn’t want anyone to go through all that, especially with kids. That being said, I can’t objectively state that a single case wasn’t doomed from the get go due to a shit pairing or a second/third marriage. This isn’t some master chef cooking show people. You can’t make a tiramisu out of a bag of fish heads and cat shit.
All that being said, shit does happen. People grow apart. That’s part of life. But a couple that “grows apart” doesn’t fuck one another over. Just because 60% of marriages end in divorce, doesn’t mean 100% of those are “the woman fucks the man over and life is unfair for men.” Of that 60%, how many were mutual and civil splits? How many of that 60% are comprised of one or more participants on a second/third/forth/fifth attempt at marriage? Also, there isn’t someone for everyone lol. There are a lot of men and women out there that aren’t just going to make it in a partnership. That’s life.

Most people get married in their early to mid twenties = a time when they don't know squat about life, have little to no actual experience doing anything, and are completely incapable of judging other people's character. There's been a tiny bit of progress, since "joint custody" is now becoming more common. But that's it. If you are male, and you end up in divorce court, you're screwed - whether you were a good father, observed your vows, etc. Your kids will be taken from you, and your money will be taken from you, and your role as a father will be taken from you, and there's dick all you can do about it. As a man, you are totally powerless in family court. You are a wallet with legs, and nothing more.
In my case, I married a girl from a good family, attended church regularly, had a degree in wildlife management, and was highly approved of by my parents. 10 years, and 2 kids in, she started fucking the next door neighbor, and I was completely clueless. Everything seemed totally fine and normal. Then she got arrested for fucking the neighbor in a Piggly Wiggly parking lot.
When the judge announced the decree, he started by telling me he was sorry, felt terrible, but State guidelines gave him little choice. He told my ex she was a despicable human being, then he awarded her full custody, total decision making authority over the children, and gave me a $750/mo child support payment ( I never missed a single payment, and it hurt).
You are in no position, as a man never experiencing it, to judge the realities of today's situation for men in general, or its participants. No tree fears the saw, until its turned into 2x4's.

I will add one more thing to what you said. More and more women, today, will act like chameleons. They will say one thing but be planning something else in the back of their minds.
They will promise to love, honor and obey but will add a caveat, in their crooked little minds saying; "until I get tired of him then I can always divorce him and take everything away from him."
As long as they know that they possess all the power, they will do whatever they want and you cannot do anything about it.

I obey the law because I try to be good person. I don't covet what someone else has; their wife, the possessions or their money. So I don't have a problem with lying, cheating or stealing to get ahead.
I will also admit that I obey the law because I don't want to suffer the consequences if I get caught breaking it.
Today's woman know that there are no consequences if she breaks her wedding vows and divorces her husband. She has everything to gain. Keep in mind that some women may start out wanting to be a good wife but when problems occur, the devil on her shoulders reminds her that the law and the courts are on her side. They has odds of 100-to-1 of getting what she wants in divorce court.
Even the women that have some degree of piety about them will rationalize and make excuses. 99% of them will say their husband was abusive.
This is important. So pay attention. Women have redefined the word "abusive."
To them, abuse is when a husband yells at them for any reason. Even if the husband is justified in ONLY yelling at his wife when she's caught cheating on them. For example:
John finds out Mary is behaving like a slut; blowing everyone in town but him. He's pissed. And he wouldn't be normal unless he was pissed.
He reads the riot act to Mary. However, she tells everyone, including her attorney that John was "abusive." To her sympathetic friends she will tell them that he yelled at her. Her fellow slut-sisters will agree that any husband who yells at his wife is "abusive."
What Mary leaves out is that John found out she was spreading her legs for the entire 7th Fleet. Her slut-sisters think he yelled at her for burning the toast.
Even if they know she has more sex than a rabbit with other guys, that doesn't matter cause, in their minds, John is "abusive."
That's a long winded example of how they try to take the moral high ground at the same time they are taking our bank accounts in divorce courts that they know are friendly to them.
To the gentlemen of SH that have a great wife, I'm glad for you. However, don't think, for one second, that you were the smart one and grabbed the best woman like you happened to grab the most accurate PRS rifle while everyone go the POS rifle that can't hold more than 4 MOA on a calm day. You probably just got lucky.

She may seem like a great wife but might be doing a good job of hiding her nascent evil until she feels the time is right to call it quits with you. You guys have opened my eyes and made me see that she could be playing me. So I just finished up waterboarding her in order to make sure she wasn’t planning on screwing me over. Was worried I’d run out of water and started using pumpkin spice lattes.
