are any of the reflex sights worth a shit. i know i don't like the trijicon reflex because the reticale is like 6moa or something way to big. and i don't mean acog's or red dot scopes like the aim point i know those are nice (i.e. EOTech). i am strictly speaking of the reflex sights. any one who as owned one please chime in and include make and model please.

What you don't understand is that the huge reticle can actually be way more accurate than a dot reticle.

You use the tip of the chevron or triangle as your aiming point.
A traditional dot, covers the target.
Additionally, the huge reticle is incredibly fast to get on target because you do not have to hunt for it.

I run a Trijicon Tri-Power and absolutely love it.
I realize that the Tri-Power isn't a "Reflex Sight", but it is very similar.
One optic that I would recomend that you consider is the Trijicon RMR.

Re: Reflex sights

I have a trijicon reflex RX01 NSN model with a 4.5 amber dot. I have it mounted on top of my AR-10A2 and it is one of the best sights I have ever shot with.

They all use the same aiming principle at this point (very similar to the Glenn Bindon concept who started paralax free dot sight). If you want smaller you could get a RMR or go cheaper and get a Burris Fastfire.

Mine is accurate on man sized targets out to 400 yards easily. Great site. Their is a reason US military standardized on Aimpoints and Trijicon gear for optics.

Re: Reflex sights

Ill tell ya, used an Aimpoint CompM2 (older) in Iraq for 13 months. Would trust it ANY day of the week if it were my life on the line. It got thrown, bounced, slung, and dropped on more than one occasion. Never once had to re-establish zero. Fired three shots, always on point man. Id never hesitate to buy one of the newer Comp series. Oh, and I never had to change the battery. It got left on in sector at all times, every day, and the sucker kept right on truckin.

Re: Reflex sights

The leupy one seems pretty nice.
Turns on by movement of the gun.

Many 3 gun shooters run the burris model.

Folks have been using the C more for many years.

You WILL pay for a high quality one for duty use and they are not battery friendly.

At least the leupy goes to sleep on its own.

Re: Reflex sights

Man, if you are worried about how long about a battery will last with a real aimpoint its either a fake or you are on the wrong forum. On for 3-5 yrs at max setting completely normal.

I know this is a old thread... and have done the 'search' thing... But, putting together my first AR build in 7.62x39... I have a Rx01 reflex sight and I installed it on the pic rails... BUT... it seems to me that the sight need to be higher.... the only 'bigger' mount I have found online is .640 tall or something like that.... is there anything out there that will give me MORE sight height....???? thanks guys...
