I bought a 700 varmint in 243 it's a 1:9 1/8 twist factory I know an 8 or 7.5 would be better but will it stabilize a 95 or 100 maybe and I know it's pushing it but a 105 a max

Mine measured out to 1:9.5 and would stabilize the AMAX but it either keyholed or just wouldn't shoot with the other 105's. I burnt the barrel out running AMAX's and it was a hammer.
Most of the 95's and 100's are shorter bullets and will stabilize in anything 1:10 or faster. If you have trouble getting a bullet that will stabilize or don't want to take the chance check out the Berger 87gr VLD and 95gr classic hunter, both were made for 1:10 barrels. Also the 87gr VMAX's have a good BC, will stabilize no problem and are very economical compared to Berger.

If you're talking about the Berger hybrid, find me some stock Remington's that will stabilize them and I'll but two. Those bullets need a 1:8 due to their length, there is no way they will stabilize in a Remington tube. Even attempting to get that bullet to shoot in a remington is a waste of time and money. The only reason the AMAX with its length will typically stabilize is because the forward length of the plastic tip is lighter than copper and lead.
How bout this 6mmREM(bottom) it shot a 3.5" group [MENTION=27617]600yd[/MENTION]s. last year with the Hybrids, stock Remington barrel, velocity was about 2950fps.
This is 2 groups I shot with them at 300yds.

You have a rare case if you got them to stabilize because that is certainly not the norm. Berger even recommends a 1:8 for the bullet and there is good reason behind that.
There are plenty of others that couldn't even get the AMAX to stabilize. Like I said, mine measured out to 9.5" but either way stabilizing any 105 in a 1:9 is extremely hit or miss.
Yeah, that 6mmREM shot the 105 AMAXs, 105 AMP HPBTs and Hybrids very well, and I seated the hybrids to kiss the lands, too.
Soon it will become an 8 twist 6 Creedmoor.
Yup, the Hornady HPBTs, AMAXs, the Nosler Comp bullets, Hybrids, VLDs, anything right around the 105 range. Shot both the Hybrids, AMAXs and the Hornady HPBTs in my 9 1/8" twist, they all worked fine.

I simply meant to say that the marginal twist is going to require speed, and mother nature.
